I would go back to DTS ! We wanted to stay there again this January but the rate was more than double what we had paid the same time the year before. So

we stayed offsite.
Been to both....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have stayed at both Doubletree Suites and Hilton at Downtown Disney. We did not use their transportation at either. We enjoyed both locations. If you look at a map of Downtown Disney you will see those hotels have their own road from one end of DTD on out to the exit off property. To compare:
Doubletree Suites (Jan 06):
Is the farthest hotel from DTD. Not a bad walk but a jaunt.
It is an all suite hotel.
Hot and Cold Breakfast buffets available. We stayed via a Mousesaver link and got the cold for free and it was one of the best we have had.
Pool is average, is by the highway and alittle noisy for me.
I would request a room facing DTD so I didn't look at the highway.
Everyone was very nice, the actual common areas are small.
Suite had all we needed and they brought us an extra chair as we are five.
Renovated a couple years ago, so our room was very nice.
Not a hotel I would hang around in beyond my room, but would certainly return for home base.
Hilton (Sept 06 x2):
Literally a crosswalk away for DTD. Was great to go back and forth.
Variety of room offerings here, we had 2 regular rooms so I can't tell you about a suite.
Room one faced the pool area but we could see parts of DTD. Room two faced the front and we watched the MK fireworks from our room.
Pools are very nice, with padded chaise, tables, hot tub, two pools etc.
Lobby very large, with bar, pool table, sitting areas.......several restaurants.
Have the EMH at the parks, character meal there and variety of food offers.
We did have an executive level room with access to the executive lounge. Ate breakfast there along with snacks. Never made it for the evening food so I'm not sure what was offered.
Room looked like it had been renovated....granite in bath etc....but could have used alittle more detail. Still a very nice room.
