Hi - our flight lands at 6:30pm the night before our cruise so we are thinking of staying at the Orlando Hyatt? Anyone have any advice or experience to share? Thanks!

I originally had this hotel booked before we decided to go to Tampa first and see family then on the cruise. I read it was a great hotel and participated with the DCL transfer bus so you just put the tags on your luggage and they will take to the bus. I believe there are reviews on TripAdvisor that might help you also.

Used it in December. Great experience. You pick up your luggage at baggage, go up the escalator to the front desk, and then the elevator to your room. Using the service to have your bags taken care of was so convenient -- felt like we started vacation early. Lol. Highly recommend it.

Awsome experience. Don't put your cruise tags on till after you get to your room at the hotel, then let them pick tem up for you.

We did on our last cruise in 2013. It was super easy and convenient...went off without a hitch. With two youngish girls that are not real keen on sitting for long periods of time it was great. We flew from Phoenix to St. Louis and then from St. Louis to Orlando and it was a long day for them. We got off the plane, walked to our hotel, checked in and then walked to Chili's to get dinner. We perused some of the shops and then went to our room and our luggage was there waiting for us. In the morning, we put the designated tags on our bags and did the automatic check out. On our way out I just double checked with the desk that they knew our bags were going on the Disney transfer bus and then just walked down to the where the buses pick up. Sure enough, all of our bags made it to our stateroom. It was fabulous. One suggestion I might make is to scope out where you need to catch the buses at if you have never done it before. This was our first time so I was a little anxious as I didn't know where to go but I'm kind of a control freak so for the averagely adjusted adult it's fine. LOL

We stayed at the airport Hyatt last year and will do the same this year. We get in late the night before and it is very easy. I do not have my bags picked up; we roll them to the Disney bus although lots of people use this option. Just tell the hotel desk at check in and they will review how to use the service. You will see your bags again in your stateroom on the boat.

Did it in August last year and doing it again in July before our next cruise. Nothing negative to stay. Super convenient and very easy to deal with magical express to ship in the morning. You just need to leave your bags outside your room when leaving. I would also recommend dinner & breakfast in the hotels restaurant. Food was very good & decently priced for this New Yorker.

Did it a long time ago & it was great. Using the day room after our cruise next month!

How did you get your luggage picked up when you arrived. I assume Hyatt took care of it. How did you arrange this

Good question. I think it's something they will do, but I've always read that it's an additional charge.

We stayed there for our Oct 2013 cruise and loved how convenient it was. My son loved swimming in the rooftop pool also and the breakfast buffet was delicious. My son was worried about our luggage since he had no idea we were going on a cruise so when he finally found out (after we were on Fantasy and he was going down the Aquaduck (he thought we were just touring the ship), he said oh no, we have to go back and get our luggage. He was very glad to see it made safely into our stateroom. We are staying there 2 nights before our April since our flight gets in at midnight and it just seemed easier to pick up our luggage and be at our hotel.

we have used the Hyatt several times and it is so convenient I can hardly consider doing it another way. Get off your plane, get your luggage and head to the Hyatt, when you ck in just tell them you are going on a Disney cruise the next day. They will give you an information sheet to read and fill out. When you get to your room, THEN put you Cruise Line luggage tags on, leave your bags IN your room and they will be picked up at 8:30AM and will be brought to the ship and placed outside your stateroom door. You and your family go down to the Magical Express location (cruise bus is at same location) at the end on the lower level of B terminal and wait for the bus to take you to the Cape. They check you in right there and the bus to the Cape leaves about 9:30 I think (could be 9 AM) as the bus fills, they bring another one - piece of cake. It is kind to leave a luggage 'tip' on top of your bags in the room I think - just my feeling.

I have stayed there before, it is nice. However, if you are on a budget, consider staying at a Disney value resort. You will get picked up free from the Magical Express and the resort should cost less than the Hyatt. I did this in February when arriving on a flight at 9:30 at night. DCL will pick you up at your resort.

We did this and it worked out well- especially since we landed in Orlando around 11pm.

Fwiw we stayed at a value resort after our cruise when we hit the parks and it was truly filthy. Our room smelled and our bathtub was covered with a thick black film. I was able to scrub it off with a towel which indicates to me that it had just not been cleaned. I was pretty grossed out and definitely disappointed that no one compensated us when I complained. I don't expect much from a value resort but I did expect a clean room. It was especially alarming after coming from the immaculate ship.

We have been cruising every year recently so I got the Hyatt credit card which gave me 2 free stays the 1st year and 1 free stay on your anniversary every year. It has a $75 annual fee (which I think was waived the 1st year). I figure $75 is a pretty great rate for this hotel.

From what I'm reading in my research, if you stay at the Hyatt you will get to the Port at a better time. There is no set order for the DCL resort pickup-I've seen some people getting picked up at 12:30. You can't request a time.
I can't get my flights until May at the earliest but since we cruise the day after Easter, when we fly will depend on the rates. If Saturday is better we will stay DVC but probably get a transfer besides DCL so we can go earlier. If Sunday costs less we will just stay at the Hyatt.

Never been disappointed, staff is efficient, helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean, food is good, pool is fun, they have a very small gym - but it's ok. The luggage pickup and Disney transport to port are fantastic. Stayed there at least 8 of 12 DCL. DD DH love the pool and roaming around the airport. Already booked for July cruise.

I agree that staying at a value resort after your cruise is a bad idea. We did that after the Dream, too much of a shock, ha! We stayed at POP, should have gone to a moderate.....it was before I knew about David's.

According to the Hyatts rate rules only two round trip transfers are included with the room reservation. Does anyone know the cost of extra people? We are traveling with five people. Thanks.
