Has anyone stayed at a cheap hotel near the Orlando airport. We arrive about midnight and don't have a room at WDW until that afternoon.

We often fly in on a late arriving flight, too. I've gotten good rates at the Hyatt right at the airport. You'll do better rate-wise if you can book a bit in advance. The AAA rates on their site can be quite good. Factor in the cost of a cab ride away from the airport and the Hyatt is usually comparable.

We love the convenience of the Hyatt. We've had late arriving flights that were delayed due to T-storms down the whole east coast and didn't arrive to MCO until almost 3am. We were so happy to be staying at the Hyatt and could stagger to our room. I don't even remember checking in.

We are planning on staying at the Hyatt when we go down at the end of November as we will not be getting in until 1am. Best part is that you can still take advantage of Magical Express when you are ready to go to WDW. If you stayed somewhere else you would have the ride to the hotel as well as the ride to your hotel at WDW.

You can find an airport hotel that has a free shuttle to/from the airport. Then you schedule your DME ride for the morning after your flight arrives. All you need to do is supply Disney with a flight number from that morning. My brother just did this in June. He stayed at the Doubletree (he has a ton of HHonors points). The only drawback is that you have to claim your luggage at baggage claim and haul them around with you. But you would do that even if you stayed at the Hyatt and the Hyatt is not cheap.

OP, check the list of MCO hotels here:
http://www.orlandoairports.net/marketing/hotels.htm
and then check their ratings on Tripadvisor .com. Most of the places are fine for just one night. But you want one with a free shuttle, so check their amenities to make sure the one you choose has one.

What is cheap to you?

Some people on the disboard think cheap is anything in the 100-150 range
others think it is 50-75 etc etc
