Hi Everyone.

My "soon-to-be" finance and I are staying at the Old Key West resort. I got a great deal from a DVC member who will not be able to attend this year and he sold his points to me. We aer staying June 9th thru June 14th. We already have Annual Passes.

All of those OKW vacationers have any advice/tips for us when we get there? What building to stay in? Bus transportation? Overall experiences?

I've been away from these boards for a while, but I have once again dedicated myself to these boards for advice and any helpful tips.

Thanks in advance

Hello HakunaMatataMan, I havent stayed at OKW recently but I beleive you might get better answers to your question on the DVC board as it is a DVC resort.

What I can tell you is that the rooms are nice and big, and you probably would like something near the quiet pool area. This area feels a little secluded and that could be a good thing. The bus transportation is a little long but because it makes several stops at each area fo the resort but overall I think you will enjoy OKW.

Like antnee said go over to the DVC board and do some searching and reading. OKW is a beautiful resort, from the wildlife to the wonderful views from your patio!! Was size unit will you be staying in? And Congrats!! -Cris

Chris: We'll be staying in a studio. I asked for preferences near the hospitality house with a water view and near the main pool. Any building in particular would satisfy all of those requests?

Thanks

http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/okwmap.jpg here is a map of OKW where you can see the buildings. I think Doc could give you specific buildings, we usually stay over at Turtle Pond, but that is a little bit of a trot to the main building!!

We stay in building 62 or 63 every February. It is close to the HH, Pool and Bus. Have a Magical stay in the neighborhood.

Hi,

OKW is beautiful and very laid back. They have two pools that have snack bars, hot tubs. Since the main pool doesn't have a slide the Turtle Pond pool area is just as nice (or better) than the main area. It's also a little quieter.

We always request Bldgs 14 or 13, top floor(3rd), non -smoking.These 2 bldgs (14 + 13) are closest to the main pool and the Hospatality House. Once you are on the busses at the parks, you will be back at OKW within 10 -15 minutes max.
If you rent a car or drive down, you park right in front of your building at OKW, and 1 minute from your room.:D
