I've done a search but cannot find any mention of anyone staying at the new Embassy Suites at 11767 Harbor Blvd. Has anyone stayed there? If so, how was the hotel in general and how was it for proximity to DL? I think it opened sometime last summer, and it says it's 1 mile to Disneyland Resort. It doesn't even show up on some of the hotel locator/reservation services, but I guess that's because it's fairly new. It looks and sounds very nice. I'm specifically looking for a suite hotel, and they have a special ValPak promo rate of $89 which sounds wonderful for what you get. We've stayed at other Embassy Suites before and love the room set-up and the cooked-to-order breakfast, but it sure would be nice to hear a first-hand account of this specific hotel. Anyone have any feedback either good or bad about the hotel accomodations and transportation to DL? We plan on renting a car, and I haven't even checked to see if they provide transportation.

We are going to be staying at the 117167 Harbor Blvd. Embassy Suites Hotel on Dec. 19th thru Dec. 23rd. The Hotel just opened up last month and the pictures I have seen look really nice. I don't know how you can go wrong by staying at a Brand New Embassy Suites. When do you plan on staying there? Please post about it if you stay before we do. Yes, we did get the 89.oo rate!

We're not going until March, so I'd love to hear about the hotel and how the location was when you return. Congrats on getting that great rate! I'm glad I got mine when I did because it's no longer available for my dates. We've stayed at other Embassy Suites and have been pleased - I'd imagine this one will be very nice since it's brand new.

We just got back on Wed. and we stayed 10 nights at the Embassy Suites. We paid $99/nt which I thought was OK so I'd say $89 is a good rate. The hotel shares the same parking lot as Hampton Inn and Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn. There is a shuttle to DL that leaves the hotel every 1/2 hour. It services only these 3 hotels so there is hardly any wait time (at least there wasn't while we were there). We actually walked to DL quite a few times while we there too. It's a bit of a hike but we were there in about 20 minutes. There are a number of places to eat very close by - Outback Steakhouse, Red Robin, Coco's Bakeshop & Eatery, Jack-in-the-Box, Buca's (Italian), Joe's Crabshack, and a few others which I can't remember the names of. I thought the hotel was nice. It's thirteen stories tall. The center of the hotel is open to the ceiling with the rooms going around the perimiter. The rooms themselves were fine. Very clean (since they just opened on Nov. 16). The color scheme is dark earth tones like rust and brown etc. The carpet is sort of leopard-like which makes it hard to find small things when you drop them! There are 2 TV's, a small fridge and a microwave. There is a guest laundry and ice machines on the 3rd, 6th, and 9th floors. It was $.75 for the washer and $1.00 for the dryer (which dried everything I had on one cycle). There is a small giftshop on the mainfloor but we never used it because there is a Target almost across the street (in retrospect I would not have bothered packing any food with me - I would have bought it at Target instead). They have a pool and a hot tub which we only used once because it was kind of chilly while we were there. The breakfast each morning was really convenient. You could choose from the buffet which consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, breads and bagels which you could toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, oatmeal, and pancakes and french toast, or you could have the chef make you an omelet, or basically whatever kind of eggs you wanted or fresh Mickey pancakes or french toast. We ate there every morning. On weekdays it's open from 6 or 6:30am until 9:30am and on weekends the hours are extended to 10:30 am. The whole open area on the main floor is set up with tables amid rocks, trees and small waterfalls and streams (in keeping with the jungle theme I guess). Every night there is also a manager's reception where they have snacks and free drinks. We only went to this twice but they did offer it every night. They do have a restaurant as well which is open after 11 am and they do offer room service as well. We did not try either of these. We found the hotel very quiet. We never heard anything while we were in our rooms. I think this was in part because the hotel seemed quite empty while we were there. Sorry this is so long, but if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer.

I hadn't read your information here before posting under your other note, but I do have another question. Was the Target just a regular Target with maybe 2 aisles of food, or was it one of the Super Targets that actually has a full grocery store? Thanks so much for the wonderful info! It sounds great, and I can't wait to stay there.

I'm really not sure about the Target question. I don't think I would consider it a full grocery store but they did seem to have more than a couple of aisles. To be honest I really didn't look all that carefully because I had already brought everything with me. They seemed to have most things that I would have wanted to buy. There was bread, milk, juices, cereal, soups, granola bars, canned goods, etc. etc. We don't have a Target in Canada so I'm not sure what one with a full grocery looks like mind you!

As for the pool, it is outside. There is also a fitness room which I think I forgot to mention. It looked quite nice but we never used it (we did enough walking while we were there!). There is also a games room opening (not sure when or what it will be like but there was a sign on the door saying "opening soon").

Hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!
