A friend of mine is going to DL for the first time with a famiy of 6 (4 kids, 2 adults). They are "price sensitive" and are wondering if the extra money is worth it to stay at Homewood Suites. I think they are looking about about $140.00US a night, compared to another hotel which has a free breakfast as well, but would be around $80.00 a night. Can anyone comment on Homwood Suites? If any one has any picture to post, that would be great also. :)

There is a "light snack" advertised. Would this be substantial enough for a "light supper"? :flower:

Any comments would be helpful. :cool1:

We went and stayed at Homewood in November 04. We were very pleased. The room was very spacious. They served breakfast every morning, and dinner every night Mon-Thur. A light snack is more like dinner. Of the nights we were there, they served sloppy joes, pizza, and chicken fajitas. The night they served pizza, they also served salad and fixings. With the sloppy joes, there were chips and another side I can't remember. There was a menu right on the fridge of the dinner they would be serving that night. Very nice dining area. For breakfast, they had scrambled eggs, sausage, (1 morning, they had biscuits and gravy instead); yogurts, cereals, danishes, muffins, oatmeal, etc. etc. In the morning, they had a serve yourself juice, and soda at night. The service was friendly, and we did not have problems at all. We had a very nice time there, and would definitely stay there again.
HTH!

Thank's for the info. We're staying there the first week in May(we got a rate of 89 per night inc) , and were wondering about it. How far is it to DL? I'm trying to deceide weather to drive to the park, take the shuttle, or take a taxi. Thank's again,

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get such a good rate? :earsboy: End of August I was able to get a AAA rate of $119.00 a night (down from what a travel agent had quoted of $139.00).

It is technically in Garden Grove, in a large cluster of restaurants and other hotels. The restaurants surrounding it are Red Robin, Outback, and Joe's Crabshack. There is a Target across the street. We took the shuttle everytime we went, and it took about 5-10 minutes to get to DL. That is a great rate! Have a great time! :earsgirl:

We stayed there in Nov. of '04. For the little time we spent in the room it was perfect. The shuttle was quick, easy, and free! We stayed free using hilton points. For an extended stay sign up for the hilton honors program! On snack nights get there in the beginning they will run out towards the end.

I booked really early. I called the hotel directly(not the 800 #) and when I spoke to the res agent I told her I had the ent. book and AAA and simply asked what was the best rate offered for my travel dates. To tell the truth, it looks like I just got lucky. Maybe a side trip to vegas??

We were thinking about booking it for 3 nights. Does anyone what time they serve the evening snack? My kids seem to want to eat every 2 hours.

Also, how old is the property? Are the rooms big?
All information would be appreciated.

I believe the evening dinner/snack was served from 5-8. The rooms are bigger than any room I have ever stayed in, and they seemed like a newer property.

I just received the Anaheim OC visitors guide and there is a code for homewood suites. From 3/1 to 5/31 109.00 and from 6/1 to 8/31 119.00. The code is CVB. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I found they had a specail for the weekend at $109 but we are staying over on a Monday and I will try your code. I see you are in Philly. SOUTHWEST AIRLINE had some really cheap rates to fly to LAX the end of APRIL ( $79 EACH WAY PLUS TAX).

I tried that code at the HOMEWOOD SUITES, ORANGE GROVE, CA but they told me that no such code exsists. Woulk you mind looking again. Thanks.

The code is cvb it's from the winter/spring 2005 anaheim orange co. visitors guide. The ad says either call 1-800-call-home or go to homewoodsuites.com.
Hope it helps,
