The condo's I have liked the most were on floridasunvactionhomes.

The two that look the most promising are Oliver's Oasis and Chip & Dales Treehouse. I think they are both in building 6, which is close to pool area.

Has anyone stayed in either of these and can you tell me how they were? You could PM if you like, tia, lori

Just wanted to say, that we haven't stayed in either of those, but we did stay in Lightning McQueen's Pad. It is also a Fl.Sun home. Everything was nice, no problems.

So you used FLSun and were happy with them? Is the $250 non-refundable deposit typical of all rentals? or just through the agencies?

It looks like both the ones that you picked are the exact same lay-out as the one we stayed in. I would pick Oliver's Oasis (between the two), personally, because it has the computer set up :)

Yeah, it's the one I'm leaning towards. :) Kids like the look of it as well. It's weird how you feel about a place just by the furniture, etc. WE have seen some with great locations, but just don't "feel" right.

We leave next week for a stay at a house through Florida Sun Vacations, and so far, I've been so thrilled with their customer service. I've had questions about the house, and they always get back to me right away with detailed answers. We got a special where one night is free, and so is pool heat (house has its own pool). I highly recommend them as far as pre-planning stuff goes!

Actually, we rented it directly through the owner because the rate was better. It is a Fl. Sun condo though. But, yes, he lists on his personal website that the $250 deposit is non-refundable as well. And yes, we were happy with them.

I really loved the bed in the master. My back didn't hurt all week! The owner tried to find out about the mattress so that I could find and purchase one, but no luck! LOL

We rented Never Never Land from floridasunvacationhomes.com, and it was terrific! We loved the condo and wouldn't hesitate to rent through them again. The unit was in the furthest building from the pool, so next time we would like something closer. Looks like those units are $20 -$30 more per night in mid season, though.

Something to remember, if you are staying 7 nights or longer Florida Sun will give you a 15% discount. That brings the price to exactly what the owner charges (for Lightning Mcqueen's Pad) on his website. Personally I would rather work with a reputable management company, especially if there is no difference in price, because if something happens (reservation snafu, unexpected maintenance or repairs to your unit, etc) they have other rentals that they could move you to in an emergency. If you are dealing with an individual owner, you would probably have to pay out of your own pocket, and hope to get your rental price refunded after the fact. That security would be worth something to me, for sure.

Actually when we went last summer Fl. Sun's rates were a bit higher than renting from the owner. Apparently that has changed with the 15% off. Also, almost every time that I have inquired on price, the owner quotes a lower price than they have listed. I was quoted a total price of $659 for 7 nights or $1199 for two weeks at McQueen's pad in June. This is a couple hundred less than I paid last summer in June. (We have since decided not to go in the summer this year) Also, the owner said that even though we rented from him, we would get the exact same treatment as someone renting straight from Fl. Sun.

That said, I totally understand why renting from a company would be desirable and we may do so next summer since I like to try out different places!
