Have an Aug trip planned and curious to hear about anyone's experience of staying at BCV during the rehab/refurb.

Any problems?

Any issues with noise?

It really hasn't started yet as far as reports go. There's been a post of the test/model rooms that they are doing but that's it. However there were relatively few reports of noise issues with either VWL or BWV remodels which were both similar in scope to what BCV is having done.

Ugh. Originally it was supposed to be DONE by our dates. I have actually been tempted to reschedule but I think we're too invested now in the plans :)

Just got back. Stayed in a regular room at BC, not the villas. The construction was horrible! We were awakened each morning at 9 with them sawing and hammering below us. Don't know if it will be the same for the villas, but if it is, hope you aren't near it or that you are an early riser.

If your room is in the vicinity of the rooms being refurbished, you may hear some noise. In addition they need a staging area for the work so you might see walls going up and parking lots being used as the staging area.

:earsboy: Bill

This is the longest delayed refurb I've ever seen. BWV was refurbed in 2009/2010 and is almost finished with another one. Meanwhile, I don't think BCV has had a full one yet (opened 2002?).

We're booked at BCV for September. I had the feeling it might be annoying and wait listed ourselves for BWV. My fingers are crossed. I was at BWV when they were being refurbished one year and while I can't say it was seriously noisy, it was just distracting from the vacation mode I wanted to be into.

Ugh! That doesn't sound too great! I'm going in October and I hope I don't hear much. But if it starts at 9:00, that's not too bad for me-"sleeping late" for me means sleeping past 8:00. Besides, I love BCV, especially during the F&W.

Sounds like it would work for you then. I always wanted to stay there...glad I was able to try it once- never again (and not only because of the construction).

We're going in late July and I was hoping for a refurbed room so my DS could try the pulldown bed in the studio if he wanted to (he HATES the sleep sofas). But it doesn't sound like there will be too many villas done by then. We're usually already at the parks by 9:00 am so construction shouldn't bother us at all. Bummer. :(

Well you never know...some rooms will be done by then and you may get lucky!!

Here now and when you walk around to get to the walkway to IG, there is one room with the plastic on it, I think I walked inside one day, and again you just hear people telling others "that's the room they are refurbing, or some rooms are out of service while they refurb" I have not heard any noise, or seen any staging - but my room faces the quiet pool...

I will say, we started our vacation at WL, CL and their beds were the best I've slept in! IF those are the beds they are replacing here, it will so be worth it - I can't get over how fantastic those beds were - they were soft and firm! (probably that microfibre stuff!) When dh snores, I usually shake the bed - but this bed didn't move! As he sat on his side of the bed, I jumped on mine - he didn't move! rolling over, doesn't disturb the other person - now that we're here at BCV, I miss those beds! :( (*grin)

We will be arriving 7/14 for an 8 day trip in a 1br villa. I have been watching the rehab progress on these boards and was really hoping to be in an all new, refreshed unit. Now that the work has been delayed, and it looks like we'll be there in the middle of construction, I am not so sure that I want to be in an area of rooms that have been redone. Plus, all of the negative reviews of the new rooms make me want to be in one of the BC "classic" rooms. Are my concerns warranted? Would like to hear from someone who has been at BC recently. Thanks
