Hi! We just signed up for the Viva Italia trip for May 8-16th. Anyone else signed up yet? Any advice about airfare? Looking forward to meeting our group! We will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary with our 19 y.o. daughter and 10 y.o. son.

We're going August 14. I just booked our airfare a few days ago. We got a nonstop flight from JFK to Rome on Alitalia, and nonstop back from Venice to JFK on Delta (through Alitalia), for a bit over $1300. I was very pleased to get nonstop flights -- we live in Boston, but are driving to NY for the flight (and to meet my mom, who is coming with us). I think it will be worth it not to have to spend 5 hours in London in the middle of the night waiting to get a connection, which is how the very slightly cheaper flight from Boston would have worked.

Good luck - and be sure to keep us posted on your trip!

We are going on the September 14th tour. We bought our flights a few weeks ago. We don't have any chance of a non-stop, since we are flying out of Peoria, IL. But we booked flights through Delta with only one lay-over each way through Atlanta. Our tickets were around $1,300 per person too. Most on the board seem to agree that you should buy as early as possible. I wouldn't wait to see if you can save a few dollars. Most rates only go up and the seats become very limited. I know DH and I would hate to be stuck in the middle row.
