My aunt got me into watching QVC, they have alot of very nice things on there. However I have only purchased a few items in the past year. Three to be exact. Friends of our's wife is hooked on QVC and will buy anything and everything. We recently where out to eat with them and she said she liked my coat, I told her I had gotten if off of QVC. Well she started in on her DH, see other wife's buy from there to. Oh my I felt terrible as I only buy a few things per year.

Her DH and my DH went out fishing and they had a conversation about QVC. Our friends DH asked my husband if we would not bring up QVC has it is a major problem in their home. He said his wife is addicted to QVC. Sounds like they have had some fights over her spending. My DH and I did not know that she had a problem with buying so much off of the show.

Is this a major problem with some? I am a fugal person and only buy what I need. I was raised very very poor. Now I do have a very very comfortable life as DH and his family have lots of money. I never forgot where I came from.

I too am frugal. I love watching QVC, but I am one the can *window shop* and be fine with that!! I am used to not being able to buy whenever I want, so it doesn't bother me to just *watch* and not buy. My mom is very addicted to QVC! She does alot of her Christmas shopping with them.

I am sure that QVC or other home shopping networks are very *habit forming* for many people, people that should not be buying, but can't help doing so! Sometimes people just see things as too good to let pass by.

Yes, I've boughten many things. It's like anywhere else, you need to know what you're buying and your prices.

I've gotten all my Berkies there! Fantastic prices!! I've also gotten some nice 14k jewelry.

I've never had any problems with returns, either.

My MIL (who has now passed away) was very addicted to HSN and QVC. The UPS man came sometimes two times a day for her from either one of those places.

QVC was one of her major hang outs . I can't tell you how much stuff we have found in her house that was unopened, still in boxes from QVC.

I can see how it would be a problem in some marriages.

I have bought maybe one or two items and they were pretty nice, no problems. My 2 little ones like to watch cartoons so I dont really have a chance to watch it any.

Yes, I do a little shopping from QVC!

I like their Diamonique jewelry & they also sell the official NASCAR stuff for DH. I am waiting on a shirt from them for dh.

I have been watching their "Northern Nights" (bedding, sheets, etc.). I am ready to buy after doing my homework! They have great thread count for the price & the sheets are beautifu!

I made my first purchase today, but I'm another one who can just "window shop" as proved by the numerous times I've watched without buying the past several years. I also see how it could be a problem with people who are compulsive shoppers.

I used to buy more from them years ago. In fact when I first started on Prodigy there was a QVC forum there. We would watch and chat about the hosts etc. There were some real shopping addicts on that forum who would be buying something every day or if they saw something they liked they would get it in every color!

I'll still tune in from time to time and have gotten some good deals from them. In the past it was probably buying something once a month, not its once or twice a year.

I read an article several years ago that his has been a problem. However, the ariticle indicated one of two groups likely to have a problem. Group A is those who if they weren't on QVC would be at the mall. They just have to shop. Group B was actually sad, it was older lonely poeple (Mainly women) who view the "host" as thier friend.

I order from them, maybe 3 times a year. I LOVE their sterling silver! The host and hostesses got to be my "friends", lol, when I was pregnant and had horrible insomnia! They were the only show going at 3 or 4 am in the morning. ;)
I just enjoy listening to them in the background sometimes, especially on Christmas in July and on Silver Days, but definitely not addicted. I can watch without purchasing. :p

I too was raised very, very poor and am comfortable now. I do buy from QVC if they have something that I need at a good price. I don't watch the show that often but if I need something I will check online to see if they have it. I did watch it quite a bit when I was very ill a few years ago. Didn't buy much because I was too sick to want anything. I have found them to be a very reputable company to deal with.

I do think these home shopping channels can be a REAL problem to some people. A friend's mother was really addicted and bought all sorts of trinkets that she really could not afford. I learned not to mention that I had bought something from QVC because it caused her pain to even here the words. I had another friend who spent WAY too much money there - lots of jewelry and "stuff" that was never used.

I guess it's like gambling or drinking addictions. A few people have major addiction problems but most don't.

I enjoy "window shopping" at QVC and have bought a few random items. The thing I do buy repeatedly is a shampoo/conditioner kit for curly hair from Nick Chavez. His stuff is great and it can only be bought on QVC (so far)!

Yes, I'm a QVC browser. I got "hooked" right after DH and I got married. I couldn't believe all the pretty things and how much information the host gave about a piece of jewelry and how it was made. Well, my shopping habit kind of took off, and we spent more than we should. It has since tapered off to only a couple of items purchased through the year. Of course, not having a credit card is an easy way to curb the spending. ::yes:: I still enjoy watching the programs to see what's out there, and I still have to watch every morning to see what the Today's Special Value is.

It is sad to know there are people out there who buy way over their limits, especially older folks. You will sometimes hear them call in and say something like "I bought every item in the show." The credit card companies must love these people!

I spent money with them today........

I'm slowly starting to revamp my wardrobe because of my 'shrinkage', and they're doing 'Fashion Day' today. I've got some trips planned, and their 'Citiknits' line is great! Easy packing, doesn't wrinkle and flattering. So I picked up some things this morning, and I usually can go forever without finding ANYTHING that I like.

I avoided QVC completely until I started scrapbooking and heard they were going to have a scrapping weekend. I bought quite a bit, because there were many good deals. Unfortunately, I have had no end of trouble with the orders from that weekend and their customer service has been awful. Gotten conflicting information and been out-and-out lied to more than once. It's been about two months and I'm still battling with them. I'm done shopping with them! It was a short-lived obsession for me!

I have two sets of their sheets, and I love them. They are wrinkly, but they get that way after one night of sleeping on them, too. I think I've had these about 4 years, and they are holding up great!

I am a QVC shopper from way back. I buy things when I need them, and if the price is good. I LOVE the 30 day warranty. If you don't like it for any reason you can send it back for refund. I admit I haven't had to do that very many times, but I did have a camera that stopped working correctly after about 4 months. I sent it back and they sent me a BRAND NEW one. It was the next better model as the old model was discontinued. I have found their quality to be very good and the customer service has been wonderful! I never hesitate to buy from them.

I faithfully watch on Fridays FOR RACE FANS ONLY DH and I both have gotten stuff from there that we like.

I have a couple Northern Night sheet sets (I love them) most of the stuff we get is Nascar though.

I must admit I am a QVC shopper, but only for things I consider to be a great bargain and that I also want and need. I never buy things just for the sake of buying them. I hate going to the mall, just don't have enough time to go out shopping, and tune in when I'm cleaning, or scrapbooking, etc. I've gotten some wonderful bargains on scrapbooking supplies, and got my husband a powerwasher for his birthday, as he really wanted and needed one. I also just recently ordered some Kansas City steaks from QVC, as I've been dying to try them, and have to tell you that the consensus from my family was that they were the best steaks they've ever had. I've been happy with my QVC purchases, the quality has been great, and the price right. I can see where people could have a problem though if they are already problem shoppers as far as spending beyond their means.
