Anyone ship luggage to resort lately?

We're staying at the Poly in 21 days and DH and I are thinking about doing this so we don't have the hassle of luggage on our travel days. We have 3 kids so we'll have enough "stuff" to deal with. But then I think of ME & we really won't have to deal w/luggage much except getting it to the airport and then getting it to resort check in (if US Air is participating at the Poly). I don't know I'd just like to make our vacation as hassle free as possible. Then I think UPS could lose it or crunch our box or the Poly could lose our boxes. We'd have to ship our boxes home somehow - maybe the guest relations would help us there. I dunno. I also thought we could do a combination of the two - maybe send most of our clothes but save some to pack in a suitcase & have extra room on the return trip for souvenirs or items we want to have immediately when we get home.

Any thoughts? Anyone do this lately?

Last year there were 8 of us for 11 days and 6 of us were girls! LOL!!! We had a ton of luggage. Everyone brought two bags and a carryon. The only time we even touched the luggage was getting it checked in at the airport and picking it up when we landed on our return trip. We even switch resorts mid-trip. The bellman handled it on evey other occasion as well as ME. I have traveled 3 times with just me and my youngest son and it's great because luggage isn't a problem with ME taking care of it. I really don't think you'd need to ship ahead unless you think you'd have a hard time getting it to the airport and if that's the case, ask Grandpa or someone to help out.:goodvibes

I can't even imagine the cost involved to ship luggage. Use ME, it really is easy.

Thanks for your responses. Yeah - we'll probably just use ME. I'm just worried about them losing our luggage but I guess it could get lost in either case. I may send down a package prior to w/our toiletries, breakfast foods, etc so I'll probably stick in a couple outfits for everyone so we don't have to wait around for our luggage as we have a ADR shortly after arrival. Thanks again.
