Anyone ship items to All stars movie?

We are going to in two weeks and I have been thinking about shipping some food and diapers down ahead of time. Does that work well?

We are flying so to take all the extra stuff for a toddler seems like so much! LOL!

We are renting a car and planning to hit Walmart or Target between the airport and hotel.

I shipped a box about 2 years ago and it worked out well. I had diapers, baby food, formula, snacks and anything else I could get in there to save us room in our luggage. I called the hotel directly to see what I would need to do. They gave me their address and told me to put the name on the room account and checkin date on the box along with the resort name and address. They held it for me until checkin. I mailed it on a Monday and we checked in on a Saturday so that it had plenty of time to get there. I would do it again if I had a baby. Now we just pack a suitcase with diapers and snacks so that when we go to leave it ends up being our souvenir suitcase so we don't have to make room for them in the already packed suitcase. I would recommend both ways.

mommy-I read this & your other post about soy milk. I've shipped items down to a resort with no problems ahead of time. I used FedEx because I have an account with them & it is fairly inexpensive to use them over USPS , IMO.

On the package be sure to put "HOLD FOR GUEST" and your name, C/O the resort. I put my arrival date on it as well, but the front desk said that was not necessary. Just be aware that every hotel handles these packages differently--at the BW, they go to a package center and needed to be brought to the hotel when we checked in. If it was something you needed right away I'd carry it with you.

I've also used a grocery delivery service like Wegoshop and they will procure what you are looking for as far as soy items. Another alternative is to rent a car for a day from the Car Care Center or the S&D to use to run to a grocery store & even stop at the outlet mall!

I always pack a collapsible bag that we use for souveniers (and it always comes back full!) or have heard that some people pack a smaller suitcase inside of a larger one, then just use the small one to pack items into. That way you have an empty larger case, however you'd have to be careful of weight limits.

If you child has food allergies you can also contact any restaurants where you have an ADR to give that info ahead of time & speak with a chef if necessary. You can also contact Brenda Bennet at the MK and she can provide info on ingredients for counter service products there & can direct you on who to contact for other parks if that is a concern.

Just another thought on the car rental/Walmart idea since it something we explored...

There are car rental companies at some of the hotels in Downtown Disney. We considered renting at the airport and dropping off at Downtown Disney the same day or next day.

The cost of a 1 day rental is cheap and can be balanced out easily by the savings in shipping and also being able to buy some groceries and save on breakfast cost. Also, if you had any interest in going to Sea World you could get there. If you haven't been to Sea World it's great for an infant/toddler.

In the end we decided to get a rental car because the buses (esp. to the All-Star resorts) are very slow and you'll also find that the bus stops for the all star resorts are always the farthest away...not ideal for travel with a little one and a stroller. Also, I'm not yet comfortable with the idea of him not being in a car seat. When I lived in Orlando my roommate worked for Disney Transportation and he has told me that there are many minor injuries reported from the bus transportation (usually someone falling).
Anyhow, depending on when you go it might be worth exploring the option.

I also remember seeing a few posts around here regarding grocery delivery services. I'm sure they would deliver anything that you can get at a grocery store including diapers and the like.
Either way I hope you find a situation that works well and your family will surely have a wonderful vacation.
