I was called to be a demo girl for the Cricut Cake, but I turned it down because it meant working every Sunday (including Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, etc.) for the rest of the summer.
It is great if you are a foodie. You can cut anything that you can put in there...pie crust, doughs, cheese...anything. PC has frosting sheets that are paper thin that you can use or you can mix up your own fondant and use it. It is a little tricky to get the pressure, speed, blade depth right, but it works.
I know many people have altered their machines to use with food, but I am not sure I would be comfortable switching back and forth...I would worry about tiny bits of paper in my food, and greasiness on my paper.
I have to say...if deal came out, and it would have to be a good one, I would consider getting one.
