Anyone seen or had a Knot Ceremony?

Hi all,

Has anyone any ideas about having a Knot Ceremony? We've booked Rev Jack Day for our Pavilion wedding. We initially thought of the Unity candle but I kind of like the idea of the Knot.

How does it actually happen? Is it rope? Do we provide this? (www.thenuptialknot.com) Most importantly does anyone know if Rev Jack Day will perform these. (I'd rather not bother him as he seems so busy and it's hard to get hold of him as we're in the UK).

Please share any other ceremony ideas.

I think the rose exchange ceremony is a cute idea, and the sand ceremony. The knot one is interesting, however, I would kind of feel silly (completely personal) doing this at my wedding:

I guess you wouldn't have to take it as far as they did!

Never mind, I just googled it and found out. Hmmmmmmm, didn't know there were that many different ceremonies

We had "tying of the knot". It was part of the ceremony that my aunt performed. I am not sure if she changed it for us becuase we're family or if it's commonplace in the Church of England.

While we were kneeling and just before, "Those who God has brought together...," she took the longer vestment around her neck and wrapped it around our hands. It was very loose and more of a ceremonial "tying of the knot" than anything with rope, etc.
