Anyone seen Narnia:Prince Caspian yet?

Thanks for the info, the only thing I saw was early summer for the attraction to get done. I agree with you about the ending.:cutie:

I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I have to say that it was pretty violent. The battle scenes were fine for me, but my 8 y/o DD was a little overwhelmed by them and ended up just closing her eyes. I think it was just too much to take in. My mistake though, the movie is rated PG, so I probably shouldn't have brought her anyway, but she loved the first Narnia sooo much. I wasn't really expecting that much violence.

I would definitely see it again, but I don't think my DD will be for a few more years!!

Well...after starting the thread, I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't see Narnia yet! I did take the kids though and they really liked it but both agreed they thought it should have been rated PG-13. DH was unable to go, so I told him I'd wait and see it when he can too. Hopefully we'll make it some time this week.

My friend and I ended up seeing "What Happens In Vegas" instead and we really enjoyed it. There were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments, and even though it was pretty predictable...it was still very entertaining.

Did they say why they thought it should be PG-13? I don't recall any specific that made me think that when I saw it?

Me either....There were alot of fight scenes but they were tastefully done, really. My friend's 3 y/o DD loved it, lol!

I think it's because of the battle scenes. So it might be a good idea for anyone going with young children to just talk to them about it before-hand.

I agree. I saw the movie this afternoon and have been trying to figure out what it was about the movie that disappointed me. Although I liked it well enough, it was not nearly as good as The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Because it does not follow the book as well, the plot seems a little thin.

On the other hand, the scenery was beautiful, Reepicheep was so perfect, and I thought they did a great job with the battle scenes - you see the battle without all the gore and blood.

I actually loved this movie. In my opinion it is a better movie by far, than the first. Mainly because they did NOT follow the book. The first movie suffered a bit because of the more stringent following of the original source material. Almost every time a movie follows a book too closely, the movie is the poorer for it. Movie's are just a different medium and thus need to be handled much differently than books. I thought Prince Caspian, while different from the book, did capture the essence of the work and gave us a thrilling experience too boot.

The battles were intense, but not that much. They were very toned down. No blood or guts. Very 1950's style violence. The characters, especially the children, are still weak in these movies. The actors and actresses just don't seem capable of more than we've seen. My two favorite characters were Reepicheep and Trumpkin the Dwarf. Also, the evil uncle is deliciously played and fun to watch and hate.

I give Prince Caspian 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because of the battles scenes, special effects and more adventuresome pace of the film.

We haven't seen it yet, but can't wait to go. This weekend was so busy that it didn't fit in the schedule with the kid's activites and my parents coming for the weekend. My DD10 loved the first one, she recorded it on the DVR and watches it over and over. Hopefully we will fit it in soon.

I saw the movie this past weekend and loved it. The LOTR movies taught me to view movies made from books I love as separate entities from the books, so the changes made in the film version of PC didn't really bother me.

SPOILER WARNING!!! Highlight between the asterisks to make the text appear (if I managed to do this properly).

One huge change that I loved was the movie's take on how Peter handled his abrupt return to England at the end LWW and then his equally abrupt reentry to Narnia in PC. Think about it -- he went from being a teenage boy at the start of LWW to being high king of Narnia (and an adult), then back to being a teenage boy. That had to be tough for him, and the books don't really address the issue at all. While I didn't enjoy seeing Peter be a stupid twit for the majority of the movie, I thought it was very realistic.

exactly. It's PG and the only blood I remember seeing was in a character's mouth. Otherwise it's about as non gory as a movie with swords and epic battles can be.
