Anyone Seen Dick Cheney?

I actually do as well. He has a calm, mature, demeanor. I do find that comforting.

I just asked my Mom this question today. :confused3

Secretary Rice is the Secretary of State. She is the head diplomat for the country. Her job is not to get on tv and discuss domestic matters - including the hurricane. As far as the woman at Ferragamo... why was she shopping for shoes while thousands were homeless and dying? How does she know the Secretary wasn't buying pairs of shoes to be donated (I AM kidding)... very incredible Italian shoes that are so fabulous...... All of the people in the theater.... what were they doing there? Enjoying an evening out while others were suffering?

The VP... what role does he have in such an event? He is the the spare. In case something happens to the Pres he needs to step in. Again, IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THE PRESIDENT.

Really, let's develop a list of what the executive branch is and isn't allowed to do. We already know that they must all be barefoot and not allowed to relax. Tell me, can they use the bathroom, or should they do a continual "pee-pee dance" during their never-ending news conferences to show that they are doing "something" meanwhile nothing is needed from them?

Erin :)

And I find Mr. Cheney to be very calm, comforting, mature and reassuring when he lies through his teeth claiming that he has no current stock in Halliburton when in fact he has hundreds of thousands of Halliburton stock options waiting for him at the end of his present job. I trust one of you would like to inform the board here about the increase in the value of Halliburton stock from when he first took the VP job to it's present value today?

I also find him to be calm, comforting, mature and reassuring when he lies through his teeth during the last vice presidential debate about never having met John Edwards before when there's videotape of him and Edwards shaking hands and sitting together at an official function.

Facts are certainly pesky little things, aren't they?

He *did* take a long time to show up and the fact he did not cut his vacation short bothers me a great deal. I am not as bothered by Condi Rice because she had several press conferences this week that I watched, almost as many as the President.

Whether or not Dick Cheney is planning to run for his bosses spot should not make one bit of difference. He should be visible at a time of national crisis. All people in power should be hard at work helping to fix this in any way they can. I dont' care about blame or politics I care about getting stuff done in a time of crisis.

How do we know what he's doing behind the scenes? Maybe he's working on the war in Iraq (he was the Defense Secretary). Maybe he's working on the new Federal Budget. The government's fiscal year ends Sep. 21 and I'm sure it needs to be reworked. (he was a Congressman from Wyoming). His tenure at Halliburton is not the sum total of his work experience. Am I defending him, in a word YES
