I know this isn't technically a WDW question but knew you ppl would have the facts!!! I was thinking about taking DD to B&B on Broadway & wondered if she would enjoy it. Anyone who has seen it, let me know.

Thanks!!

My DD & I went a couple years ago with her school. It's beautiful & she'll love it. I would say ages 5 & up will sit thru it. I was curious about how they did the special effects - fascinating.

I've seen B&B several times, and it is absolutely wonderful! If you have the chance to go, by all means do it. You won't be disappointed.

The first time I saw B & B on Broadway, our very dear Brian had made an ellaborate plan to propose to his girlfriend Jackie. He arranged to have all their family and close friends there without Jackie's knowledge and at the end of the play after the standing ovations, the Prince asked if there was a Brian and Jackie in the audience. At this point Brian and the Prince both got down on their knees and proposed!!!!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! We then proceeded to get a backstage tour.

It is etched even deeper in my memories now since 9/11. You see, Brian was a NYC firefighter and was killed that day. Jackie and their almost 2 year old Christopher are hanging in there.

Anyway, it is one of my favorite Broadway shows. I took my 6 year old boy to see it 2 years ago.....it was his first and a PERFECT first. It is very kid oriented and alot of fun.

It will ALWAYS be one of my favorites.

We took our kids last year (they were 4 1/2 and 7). They loved it. It was their first Broadway play and I was surprised at how my 4 year old sat through the whole thing just in awe of everything.

My2boys- what a wonderful and sad story, sorry for your loss.

We just saw it this weekend. DD 6 and DS 11 both loved it as did DH and I.

We absolutely loved it enough to go twice on its two different visits to Denver. It is outstanding. The special effects are exceptional.

My2boys--what a touching story. Hugs to you.

I took my DGD when she was about 6yo and she loved it. She pretended that she was Belle for several months after.

For all of you parents, I have to share our Beauty and the Beast on Stage story.

We saw the travelling production in Minneapolis when our doughter was 9 years old. We were eating dinner across the street from the theatre, and DD spent most of the time popping out of her seat to see if the doors were open and if the clock would ever get to 8 pm.

The play was of course wonderful, and DD remembers it well to this day, 8 years later. The song (not in the film) between Maurice and Belle says it all for any father, "you are the best, creme de la creme."

Enjoy

I got tickets for just the two of us to go this weekend. My2boys, your story brought tears to my eyes. I'll say a little prayer for your friend's family!!!

My husband took me several years ago when it was here in Detroit. It was so wonderful .... I cried through the entire last scene, and most of the way home! ;) We didn't have much money at the time, and the tickets were a big splurge, but he managed to squeeze out enough to buy me a beautiful disc ornament as a keepsake. I was just looking at it yesterday remembering how much we both enjoyed the show. Go -- you won't regret it!! :)

I'd just like to add to the thread here that the Broadway version (I saw it in NYC, so I can't speak for the road productions) is vastly superior to the show at WDW. It is not only longer, but everything from costumes and effects to the dance numbers are much, much better.

I say this for the people who might not want to see the Broadway show because they've "already seen it" at WDW. Also for the people (like me) who might walk into the BatB show at WDW thinking they'll see a shortened version of the Broadway show and end up very very very disappointed.

Brian was a very special friend ( as is his wife Jackie) and that proposal will always stick out as a highlight..........he put alot of his friends to shame. It was so imaginative and romantic.

He was one of a kind. B & B will always be extra special because of him and Jackie.

Thank you all for your prayers for Jackie and Christopher. As you can imagine, it's been a pretty crazy year. I thank God every day that she has her son to help her move on and keep her busy.

Enjoy the play.....it is AWESOME!!!!!!

We did not see Beauty and the Beast but we did see The Lion King at the New Amsterdam Theatre NYC last July and it deserved every last Tony award it won!!!!!

Do I even need to tell you what I think of this show?? hehehehe. I think my screenname, tagline, and signature speak for themselves!

:)

I've seen it 4 times now- once in Los Angeles at age 13 and 3 times on tour. Needless to say my passion for the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast is equalled only by one other show, and I've seen quite a few.

It IS very good. It didn't have that "spark" for me, but overall a very entertaining and enjoyable show. :)

We saw it on Broadway a few years ago and it was fantastic. It's on my list of things to do a second, and maybe third time.

We saw it when it was in Fort Worth about 2 years ago. Loved it and my then 8 & 6yo girls did too. I was a little worried about 6yo sitting through it but it held her attention just fine.

In 2 more weeks we get to see Lion King! Can't wait!

DD and I saw it last year on Broadway along with her school friends. It was a DC-NYC trip. At first I was apprehensive about sixty five 13 year olds being bored, but they were in complete awe. They absolutely loved it! I thought I would rather have seen The Lion King or Aida, but this fantastic. You'll enjoy it a lot.
