We are going on Tuesday to the Backyardigans show. Has anyone seen it? Any feedback? What is the item my DS is going to beg me to buy for him? TIA!:)

We are going on Sunday, I have to say I am looking forward to it! We saw the hr special they had on tv that the show was based on and really enjoyed the music to it!

I was really diappointed...IMHO poor production quality and lame storyline. I've seen better sets at high school plays, really! It was the one about the aliens and I think pirates. To be honest, I thought it was terrible and I LOVE the Backyardigans. My kids are little (1 and 4 at the time) and they had fun, but I could see they were getting a bit bored by the end. Of course, they begged us for the $20 small stuffed character, and of course I caved and bought them each one. I talked to a few friends to see if I was just grumpy that day, but they agreed with me. Sorry to be a bummer, but mine is just one very small opinion.

Of course it was not great...Backyardigans is not created by DISNEY!!!

DH took DD6 to see it when it was here a couple of months ago (I didn't go because it was cheaper for him to take her with his student discount :thumbsup2 ), so I can't give any personal input....and DH knew nothing of them before taking her. LOL DD really, really enjoyed the show though. She absolutely loved seeing them live on stage, wrote up a little synopsis of the entire storyline so she could tell me all about it, and was thrilled with the little paperboard shield they handed out to every child that attended the show. According to DH, DD had no problems sitting through the entire show and really staying in tune with it. She is also my child who enjoys going to see the local high schools' musical productions as well (she has gone to see "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and the Rogers & Hammerstein version of "Cinderella"). So.....according to a just-turned-6-year-old girl who loved the Backyardigans show.....the live version was great! :thumbsup2

We took our two sons...my advice is to hit Walmart prior and buy their little Backyardigans stuffed guys so cute!
As far as the show, it was ok--not what I expected but my older DS3 enjoyed it.
