Anyone seen anything strange?

I must have been a bit older than that then. I just turned 39 and lived in Westchester. I have an aunt who lives in DesPlaines now. I would think you would remember it since it really was a traumatic event and sadly kind of like how my son will never forget 9/11 or the NIU shooting this year that really bothered him. The things I remember most were very happy or very sad things from childhood.

Now if I could just see a ghost at WDW I would never forget that. lol

Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing a ghost....................................at the HAUNTED MANSION! LOL
This thread is freaking me out. I try to think happy thoughts with WDW and not such spooky ones. The hangers banging by themselves at the POP totally freaks me out.

Ok, figured out how to add photo.
Here it is:

That is a great pic of a orb.

When my Dd was very young, I worked full time and her father stayed home to care for her. Well, tragically, he was a closet alcoholic and I had no idea. I was told by a neighbor shortly after he was arrested and went to jail (DWI-related) that he would leave the house every day after I went to work.....ALONE! :scared1: I freaked out, my then 2 year old daughter was left in an apartment alone and I had no idea. I guess this happened a lot. I asked why they didn't say something sooner, and they said it wasn't their business. Well fast forward a few weeks, I left her father and moved to my parents house 7 states away. I would hear my Dd talking to people who weren't there, playing and laughing in a room by herself a lot! It was creepy. I started to notice there was an orb in almost every pic I took of her. I even tried using a polaroid camera. It was still there. Sometimes she would be looking at it. I took her and the pictures to a friend of the family who is supposed to be a "medium" and she said that my Dd has three middle aged female "angels" who started looking over her when she was alone. It was kind of creepy, because there has been a lot of women in my family who have died during middle age. It was also kind of soothing. It was weird though, once I took her, all activity stopped. No more orbs, no more weird playing by herself. Maybe they moved on because she was safe? I don't know. Now I wish I had saved those pics! It would be cool to look through them.

I'll be 35 in a couple of weeks, we lived in DesPlaines. I lived in the ...dare I say it...Trailer Park that the plane near missed. I remember the ground shaking and a huge fireball and my mom screaming. My dad had to walk home almost 3 miles (which was a lot for him) because all the roads were closed off. Scary how much I still remembered about it.

Oh man. That was a terrible crash. You and your family were so lucky.
It was weird because we had literally walked in the door to the house from my FILl's funeral and turned on the TV about 2 minutes before Channel 2 broke in with the news. The first report was that it was a cargo plane.
I was 'lucky', if that's the right word, that I was off that day because I was in the detective bureau on the North Side and would have been sent right out to it.

A couple of years after my Dad passed, my Dh and I stayed at the Beach Club. Now as a background; my Dad came over for coffee with us every Saturday and Sunday.

Well, we met a man at the pool the first day (Saturday). He was an older gentlemen, and my DH commented that he reminded him of my father. The next morning (Sunday) I looked out of our room, and there was the man sitting alone, right under our terrace, having coffee. (Our room was a pool view over StormAlong Bay).

We met up with him and his family again later in the day at the pool. He came and sat next to me at our table, and we offered him a beer. He said to me "by the way, my name is Tom". I almost fell off my chair, because my Dad's name was Tom.

We saw them on and off a couple of times that week. On what I knew was the last day of their trip, we were walking over to Epcot. I told my Dh I felt bad because we didn't get to say goodbye to Tom. Well, lo and behold, here comes Tom walking out of Epcot right towards us! He said his knee was bothering him so he left the family there and was heading back to the hotel. I got to hug him goodbye.

I believe to this day that it was "my father" visiting me. :goodvibes

I have some great pics of my kids with orbs around them. My folks passed away April 2003 and I like to think it's them checking up on us. Wikipedia has a totally different thought about what they are, though....:scratchin

I love these stories!!! I am sitting here at work and reading these to my co-workers, whom usually roll their eyes when I talk about the DIS boards. But even they are getting into this thread :)

If anyone is coming out here to L.A. for the Western Disney Cruise, stop by the Queen Mary in Long Beach. You definetly get a freaky feeling in there and I know both Ghost Hunters and Most Haunted have done investigations there. It is suppose to be really haunted.

It's not at Disney World but the Disney Store (UK) I work in is haunted by at least three ghosts! :confused3 I'll give stories if you're interested.

Also, I have to admit that when we were at Disneyland Paris last Oct, and the last 3 people on the HM ride, we got VERY spooked. The ride broke down and we were sat in one of the dark corridors for about ten minutes on our own. Very spooky. :)

I didn't then but I have seen several ghosts in my life - mind you, my family is celtic :confused3

Here is a picture I took of my 2 sons in Epcot Imageworks last Feb. I don't know if these are real "orbs" or not, but if they are then there were quite a few of them having fun in there with my kids!

I don't know if you know this or not but there is a ghost cam on the QM-by the pool-and you WILL be seeing some spooks if you watch that cam often enough!!! You'll see some ghosts walking up the stairs and you will also see wet footprints as they get out of the pool (which is empty). Definite creepers.

Don't laugh, but I am a member of the TAPS forum and recently someone had come back from a WDW trip and took some very odd photos of something materializing right next to the funeral coach outside of the HM. There are 3 pictures that she took one after another, check them out....if you go on the site, go to Open Discussion, at the very top of that page, you'll see Orbs and Ouija Boards...click on that and you will see the Haunting in WDW thread.

LOL Sorry no, I just forgot to check this thread. I'm assuming you mean the store ones?

I should point out that all three of the stores I have worked in are in old historical cities with old buildings. If you don't mind, I wont say which three just in case I get in trouble but the buildings all date back several hundred years. Also, there are lots of incidents so excuse me summerising a little.

Anyway, the main one has three/four ghosts including a poltergeist. The stockroom, where the poltergeist activity takes place, has two children. I've never seen the boy fully, just felt him and seen the movement out of the corner of my eye. You normally see both of them when you are in one aisle getting things and they move in the next aisle over. The girl, however, I have seen. I was at the very end of one corridor of the stockroom, bent down getting some adult t-shirts and out of the corner of my eye I saw her watching me. She's about ten years old, with long dark brown curly/wavy hair wearing a white Victorian style smock dress. As soon as I turned to face her fully, however, she disappeared. One of my friends who came to work at the store several years after I'd seen her, described the same girl exactly. He saw her a lot cause she seemed to like him, but then he spent a lot of time in the stockroom, running it over Christmas time etc. She's never come onto stage (shop floor) but she's stood at the door window watching us when we've been in VERY late at night. Again I didn't see her then but I felt her...felt someone watching, and my friend saw her.

The kids are very mischievous. When we first opened they used to call your name whenever you entered the stockroom. If you went in and said 'hello' you were ok, if not they'd call your name and we were all constantly speaking to cast who weren't there. There is only one way into the stockroom and on a number of occasions we've come down to find clothes swinging on the rails as if someone has just violently pushed past them...and there's been no one else down there. We used to have these musical bubbleblowers and they would go off whenever someone entered the stockroom (Playing it's a small world  ). We got rid of several thinking they were faulty only to have another one start. We tried everything...moving their location, spreading them out, etc. Finally we gave up and just said 'stop it' if they started. Same with music. A number of us used to work down there for long periods of time so we'd stick cds on. When the kids were about the cds would start jumping. EVERY TIME if you said 'cut it out' they'd start playing fine again and we could put the songs back to the beginning and they'd play ok.

I remember four of us were in the store one night (about 1am) doing stocktake preparations. We were all sat on the floor in the stockroom and we simultaneously looked at each other because we could hear voices coming from the corridor above. We couldn't make out what they were saying but it was definitely two people whispering. Then as we all listened for about 30 seconds it was as if they realised what we were doing. There was a 'shush, shush' noise from above and they fell silent. Very odd...believe me we left soon afterwards.

The kids are ok though, just mischievous. There is a man there, however, who I do NOT like. He's on the top floor, which is boarded off and not used. It's creepy up there. He's been seen (not by me) stood at the top of the stairs near the hatch to to top floor. You can tell when he's around cause you feel unwelcome. On the rare occasions he's in the stockroom you get an urge to run out of there and a number of us have felt it.

The woman I rarely feel and I think she's actually a visitor. There's a very haunted shop a few doors up that has an infamous female ghost and the buildings are connected so I think it might be her. She's normally around at valentines and Christmas but again you just tend to feel her about, she's no trouble.

I have to stress that it is ONLY cast who get all this. Nothing happens in any areas that guests go and they don't know about it. Generally the building feels nice but I used to lock up late at night on my own and it could be REALLY creepy. One of our maintenance guys was working over night with a colleague and he dozed off while plastering. He felt his friend shake him awake so he came downstairs to thank him, at which point his mate told him he hadn't moved from where he was for over an hours. LOL so now even that skeptic believes.
