It was SO GOOD!!!! Both my DH and I loved it! Everything about it was top notch? The writing, direction, and the acting!!

Saw it this past Tuesday. LOVED it! What a fantastic movie!

My last 3 movies have been winners-Argo, Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook.

So well acted, I thought it was great. Parts of it were very raw though.

I really want to see this. DH doesn't think it's a movie for him - what did you think? A movie a guy would enjoy (you know, without things constantly blowing up ;) )? Also - has anyone who has seen it read the book?

My DH and I RARELY like the same movies. In fact, we were going to watch one tonight, but we couldn't agree! With that being said, we both really enjoyed this. I think it has aspects that really appeal to everyone. And no, I didn't read the book, but would like to.

We didn't go see or have any plans to see it until suddenly it was nominated for the Oscar. I hadn't really wanted to see it because I figured it would be crude like I figure the Hangover movies and such are.

But it's not! We both really liked it a lot :thumbsup2.

It is hard to watch in places but that's what made it so good. It gave a very real portrayal of mental illness.

Thought it was good, great acting performances. Being honest, there were some parts where it dragged a bit. Overall a very good movie with some very good insights into mental illness and the family dynamics.

Forgot to add, my daughters and I had a great time speculating about what might have been whispered in an ear at the end of the movie. Don't want to say anything more about that here in case it spoils anything for someone else.

We saw it last night. Really good film. A bit difficult to watch, especially if you have people with bi-polar disease in the family, but a very insightful look at dealing with mental issues.

I thought it was good, but not great. It followed a pretty tired movie formula and I guess I went in expecting more based on all the hype. I saw other indies last year that deserve the praise SLP is getting. Then again, I never really feel like most of the indies that become big hits deserve the praise they receive over other better indies. Like I said, I think it was a good film, just doesn't deserve quite the amount of praise it is receiving.
