We are leaving for Disney on Saturday and I am 7 weeks pregnant. My family keeps telling me I can ride the rides but I am not so sure, I mean they have the restrictions for a reason, right? So has anyone rode the rides while pregnant? My sister did when she was 7 months pregnant. I just don't know

There are many you can ride, but there are others with warnings. Those that come to mind are the Mountain roller coasters, EE, Dinosaur, Safari and the race cars. Otherwise, the others are fair game and I did many of them 7 mths along. Although at 7 weeks- you aren't that far along but I'm a very cautious pregnant person.

Just avoid the rides that having warnings (clearly posted on guide maps and outside entrances) and you'll be fine. The main things to remember are to stay hydrated and rest when you need to. You'll have a great trip!

I went 8 weeks pregnant. I saw my doc 1st (who loves WDW) and he said I could ride any ride I felt up too. He said at that time the baby was so small (heck some people don't know they are pregnant at that point) that very little on a ride could hurt it.

I skipped most. I had a 3 year old so someone had to sit with her anyway.

I did ride mission space with my niece who really wanted me too. I had been on it before and knew how my body reacted to it. I road the safari ride and I think that was it for questionable rides (that I can remember.)

BTW, I had really bad pregnancy sickness before and after the trip. I felt great almost the whole time there. All the fresh air, exercise and good food was just what I needed. It was great.

Beware, going to WDW pregnant will make the baby a true WDW fan when they come out. :rolleyes1

Congrats!!:cheer2:

There are lots of rides you can do - WDW has a TON of water based rides that are very gentle and no problem. I would avoid the coasters if it were me, and Dinosaur too - especially Dinosaur. VERY bumpy ride, IMO. Other than that, you are good to go! :)

Oh yeah, that is the other one I rode. I don't really recommend it. :rolleyes1 It was one my niece wanted me to go on her with. It wasn't too bad.

As always "Dis" disclaimer. Follow your doctors advice. :thumbsup2

I believe I stayed away from most, but I did ride maybe 2 or so rides that had warnings. I was 4.5 mos pregnant. Good luck and congrats!

My Doctor told me the baby was so little it wouldn't matter. I rode Splash and Thunder Mtn, Kali, Safari, Test Track etc. I skipped EE and Mission space just because I wanted to be extra safe. My DD is 11 months and shows no signs of Disney Brain Damage.:rotfl:

I rode everything EXCEPT Space Mtn, RnR, ToT, Test Track, Mission Space. TeaCups.

I did ride Pirates, BTMRR, Splash etc.

I was about 2mo preggers when we went also, I only stayed clear of Space because it is 'rough' for a Disney ride IMO, but that was before they rehabbed it. The others were a bit much for me as I was feeling queasy.

TeaCups was one thing I did ride when pregnant. All the water rides, HM, Soarin'. I did the Safari also as did my 6.5 month pregnant SIL. We were fine. She also rode the up/down rides like Dumbo.

I too was about 8 weeks, but I was a wuss. However, been there so many times, it didn't matter. When we went last Aug., my sympathtic DH let me ride Space Mountain first, since I didn't get to ride the previous time. :lovestruc He never got on that day because it kept closing. So, I guess next time I'll have to let him ride first.

Enjoy! And use it as an excuse to have an extra Dole Whip!

I have never been to Disney while pregnant...but just to vent: I did go to our local theme park when I was about 6 months pregnant. The first ride we went on was the big gondola sky wheel (just an overgrown ferris wheel) and the guy that was running it got really mad at me. He said it was against policy for me to go on any rides there, but he would bend the rules for me and let me go around once...I did, but I cried the whole way around at the waste of money for a ruined day. I didn't try any other rides as that guy embarassed me enough!

Everything but the coasters and MSpace at 12 weeks. DD is now a very bouncy and perfectly healthy 34 week old. On the bumpy rides I braced with my feet and took the shaking through my legs.

PS: I *did* avoid feet-first waterslides and feet-first jumping into pools. High risk of infection. Wade into the water gently.

I've been to the world twice when preggers, 6 months and 12-13 weeks. My doc told me to stay away from any thing with a G-force, so spinning rides and roller coasters. I did go on Safari both times and it was no problem. I just booked our next trip today and can't wait to go on all the rides I've missed out on, especially EE!! My husband is not allowed near me until he sees the urologist. :rolleyes1 I will NOT be pregger on another trip to the world.

I went when I was 4 months pregnant. I didn't ride anything. I decided to be a wuss and play it safe. I really enjoyed the shows and watching the kids having a great time.

I've been twice while pregnant during the 1st trimester.

One I was just 5 weeks along and the other about 8-9 weeks. My doc said that in the 1st trimester there is almost nothing that could make me miscarry about the rides also nothing to really prevent it if it was going to happen. On the other hand if I did miscarry then I would hate to think I had something to do with it even if that is not the case.

Space Mountain at DL is much smoother than WDW so I would avoid the one at WDW, but not the one at DL. I would skip Dinosaur and I don't do Mission Space just because I don't like it anyway. Other than that, I went on everything else!!! If you have mornign sickness you may decide to skip more than that also. I would make sure you skip all hot tubs with the high heat, make sure you don't forget your vitamins and bring more water than you think you can drink.

Just my 2 cents.

I am going to be 17 weeks pregnant and although it is farther from you, my doctors advice is that you just don't want to risk it. I asked mainly about splash mountain and she said it's not the roughness persay it's mor the feeling you get when you take a drop as she said "like your heart is in your throat" is the problem because that wont do damage on the baby, it's the placenta that she worries about, that kind of force can cause it to seperate or rupture and although it might not happen, it isn't worth the risk for a few seconds on a thrill ride. anything that is not a "roller coaster" type ride is fine

I went to WDW twice during my current pregnancy... once at 4 months, once at 6 months. I was concerned that it wouldn't be the same since I am a HUGE ride fanatic! There are PLENTY of rides that you can enjoy. My doctor advised that I avoid any of the "thrill rides". So no coasters or the like. However, just about everything in MK is ridable. I just stayed away from any ride that had a warning.

Congrats!!! Most women don't even know at 7 weeks if the are pregnant. Here's my story: I went down to Puerto Rico for my company's sales meeting and I was about 7 weeks pregnant and didn't know it. I rode a 4-wheeler through the rain forest and drank all 4 days (wine and beer with meals and usually a cocktail at the bar later). Hey is was a sales meeting! Came home and went with my DD to one of the indoor jumping places and jumped and slide for 2 hours straight. Found out 3 weeks later I was pregnant:scared1: I was so worried until I had my ultrasound. The doctor said not to worry about it. The baby is VERY tiny at that time and is very well cushioned.

He's now 17 months old and is healthy and perfect. But he IS rowdy!! :rotfl: I attributed it to all his prenatal activity!

I went to WDW when I was about 7 months pregnant as well. I didn't ride anything that had a lap bar or jerked me around too much. But I still had a great time!
