I am planning a trip to POFQ and was interested in renting a surrey bike. It will be me, DS10 and DS6. Will I be the only one pedaling because of the design?
We've done it at BW. If your ten year old is tall, he might be able to peddle, our kids were littler. We had a two adult unit, they don't have gears and were HARD to peddle.
Thanks for the replies! I think we might do something different maybe can pole fishing. If it is hard or awkward for 2 adults, I can only imagine how we will be. I am thinking of different things to do on non park days!
My husband and I rented one a few years back and at the time we were going to the gym 5 days a week - neither of us were able to walk after the bike ride!! The can be hard to peddle and the seats are not very comfy on the bottom!! It was fun but not something I think we will do again.
Try mini-golf on a nonpark day, your legs and rear will thank you!
We've rented them at the boardwalk (ie - jersey shore), and found them to be fun! Our 2 oldest could help us, and there were 7 of us altogether (the twins were only 3).
Have you done the campfire sing-along with Chip & Dale and the outdoor movie at Ft. Wilderness - we thought that was a lot of fun.
We rented a 4 person surrey bike at Boardwalk and had four people to pedal. My youngest was just the passenger but that was the one thing she talked about over and over again after the trip.
We were at POR last year and rented one of the surrey bikes - there were 5 adults and 1 child. Conveniently the pedal came where my SIL was sitting - so that left 3 women doing all the pedaling. It was fun but going uphill by the bridge was tough!!
