Anyone rented from Hertz?

Hello,
We are renting from Hertz and we see they are offsite. How much additional time does it take if the rental service is not in the terminal? Has anyone ever split to get the car while your family retrieves the luggage? And if so, is it confusing to find your way back to pick up your family. Dumb question? We will be getting into Orlando around 7:00pm and don't want to lose any time. Thanks!

We rent through priceline, so I've had offsite rentals a number of times. I had Hertz this fall. I split from DH and DD to go get the car. When we get off the plane we generally stay together until they go baggage claim. I go get on the shuttle and meet them back at the terminal. I waited about 10 min. for the Hertz shuttle in Sept. (just follow the signs to rental car shuttles) The ride to the Hertz location is maybe 10 minutes. I had no line whatsoever this time, so I was walking to the car within 3 minutes of getting off the shuttle. You follow the signs back to the airport and then the ones that say "Arriving flights" and the name of your airline. I have DH call me when he has the bags. In the event that they DIDN'T have the bags, you can park in MCO short term parking for free for an hour or something. Or, you can go to the cell phone lot. I have not had to do that except in one instance where there was a problem with a missing bag. On all other trips, I just pulled up to the curb and they hopped in.

Renting from Hertz is great. The shuttle is always waiting. It's easy finding your way back to the airport.
