Anyone rent video's through the mail?

We are driving to Disney and will be gone longer than a week so can't rent from our local video store. We have a VCR for the car but now that we have a DVD (Finally) for the house I don't want to buy new VCR tapes. I was wondering if anyone used those online places.

DH and I did use [url="http://www.netflix.com]Netflix.com[/url] for a little while and we really liked it. They had a huge selection to choose from, the DVDs came quickly and I loved the fact that not only re there NO late fees EVER but they are even kind enough to send you a pre-stamped envelope to send the movie back in.

Been using Netflix for about a year and recommend it.
We joined for a similar reason. My DH travels a lot. So, long plane rides and the fact that he doesn't understand the language on TV in many of the countries he visits, means he likes to take lots of DVD's with him (and they can't be returned in two days.)

I have been using Neflix for about a month and find it is a fantastic service. I have already rented about 10 DVDs, so I have already saved money. You are allowed to have 3 DVDs out at a time. You set up a DVD queue on-line with a list of movies you want to rent. When you return one (or two or three) the next DVDs will be sent to you. It takes about 1 or 2 days to receive them.

A video store can't compete with the 15,000 titles on Netflix.
There is a free two week trial period so it is well worth trying it out.

Netflix is great. I tried another online rental company - I can't remember which one and it doesn't compare to Netflix. The movies come in a couple of days.

We've also used Netflixs for a while and love it. I've watched more movies since we joined than I have in all the previous years. I love the fact that I can watch at my liesure and do not have to worry about due dates. If I keep a DVD for 3 weeks, so be it.

We've had a couple of problems along the way -- nothing major. Occassionally, their shipping gets a snag in it and it takes longer for them to log in/sent out new DVD's. Only once did we receive a DVD which had a problem -- it was still watchable, we just missed a part of it. Their offered to send a new copy when the problem was reported.

I can't imagine ever going back to a video store for rentals.

I've only heard good things about Netflix. We tried the Walmart DVD rental and did not find their turn-around-time acceptable (easily a week or more). We plan to try Netflix next.

but they are strickly DVD I need a VCR tape. The car TV is still a VCR. The DVD is in our house so I guess that won't work. But I do think I will look into it for renting DVD's thanks everyone

When we've traveled and brought videos I found that the ones they seemed to like best were just tapes of their favorite channels. I made several of things like Nick, Toon Disney and just tape for 6 hours.

2 thoughts... Try the library,when we traveled and needed VHS I would tell them at time of checkout that I would need the videos for 2 weeks and they accomodated that. I also have done that with Blockbuster in the past, but it was the usual fee, which can add up. How about the good old borrow from a neighbor paln? We do that and everyone seems to benefit.
