Has anyone rented from an owner. Any suggestions where to find rentals other than the Marriott site? Looks like a beautiful resort.

How about using vrbo.com?

I only found 2 listings on that site. Any other sites out there???

They called me last night and offered me a timeshare tour deal. $298 with a $100 credit to the nice mall nearby for 4 nights/5 days, 2 bedroom villa. I really wanted to do it because they are supposed to be very soft sell - tell them no and they just want to get you to have a favorable opinion for review purposes so they leave you alone. Plus, the resort gets great reviews. Unfortunately, my husband just hates timeshare resorts because of all the bad ones and refuses.

I wish they would call me--I would do it. I heard Marriott doesn't pressure you the way the other ones do.

DO IT DO IT DO IT!! We did this same deal in June after school got out. Wow. Not only was the villa incredible, terrific pools (love me some cute guys bringing me drinks!!)... the timeshare sale was the easiest ever. We told the guy politely "no thank you", and he said, "enjoy your stay." That was it. We literally were at the timeshare presention 30 minutes start to finish. We don't own any timeshares (but my parents do and a friend does) so we have stayed at other properties. This was the best one we've ever stayed at before, by a long shot. And the price couldn't be beat!!! DH and I both said if we ever wanted to buy a timeshare- we'd buy that one.

Mousy - I just sent you a pm with contact info for the offer. Good luck.

If anybody else wants the info, send me a pm.

If you want to rent a week without the timeshare spiel, you can look on redweek.com and tug2.net. I believe Redweek has a fee of $9.99 a year. They usually have lots of listings for most Marriott resorts. As an owner at NCV, we love it there. I don't blame you from wanting to stay there. However, we usually trade for Kauai and end up going to NCV on a rental!!

I tried tug and didn't find anything and my membership for Redweek ran out last month and I didn't renew it. The problem is they rent the timeshares Fri-Sat.-Sun for a week and we are arriving Tues-Tues. I have 3 nights secured from an end of a rental. There is always priceline although I would love to stay here the whole time.

i am trying to find out how i can get a tour at the marriott newport coast in california . does anyone have any info or promotion for there

hello i am wondering if you have any info on how to do a promtional tour in california at the newport coast

I think if you go to the marriott time share website you can request info and they will contact you about it.
good luck

I live in the area and I can tell you its probably one of the best timeshares I have seen. The beach below is one of my favorite in OC. Try to stay here if you can.
