We just booked a 3 bedroom townhouse at Terra Verde for this coming February. Is there a reason you don't want to re-book there for this trip? Yikes, I hope you didn't have a bad experience there! Last year we stayed at Runaway Beach Club. Our condo was nice enough, although after that stay we now know we need at least two bedrooms, that unit was a one bedroom, one bath. Not quite big enough for the four of us. Kids are too big for pull out sofas to be comfy. We wouldn't re-book at Runaway. Seemed to be a mix of residents and vacationers. Walls were paper thin and we could her the people below us yelling in the middle of the night and the people next to us coming home from the parks late. They would put in a movie for the kids and we could here every word (and song!) of the movie being played. I now know "Lion King" word for word!
Our stay was in early 2005, so the details are a bit fuzzy. The only problem I remember was the hot tub not working properly, and that was fixed within an hour or so as soon as we called the management company. I don't remember any problems with noise at all...unless I count DH snoring like a sick cow. 
Phew! What a relief! Thanks for letting me know it was a good stay, really appreciate it. The private hot tub at the end of the day was the real selling point for me. Hopefully, there won't be any problems! I too like to try different places. Some noise is expected regardless of where I go. I also have a "sick cow"!Oh no, we had a great experience at Terra Verde! I'm just always open to new places/experiences.
We rented a pool home last Christmas for only $800 for the week including taxes and pool heat (http://www.vrbo.com/375088). It was very close to Animal Kingdom. We also rented a 2 bedroom condo in Windsor Hills for $422 including everything via http://www.vacationcentralflorida.com . It was comfortable, but worn and in need of some TLC. Both places had lot of things for small children. The condo even has a free stroller to borrow for your vacation. The condo was not one owned by Dave & Patti, but one of their friends. I think that Dave & Patti would have kept up with the maintenance a little better. I may rent through them again, but not from one of their associates.
. We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort (not the Villages as the PP) but like the PP, we thought it was incredible. The villas are outstanding and so spacious. The resort itself offers a ton of activities for every age and stage, and each of the pools offer a little something unique (one has a slide, one has small fountains for the little ones to run through, one shows evening movies on a big screen, two have waterfalls, etc.). They have wonderful playgrounds scattered throughout the resort that would be perfect for the OP's child.
