I was just thinking about one of my favorite tv shows when I was a kid, "The Magic Garden". I also found this: www.caroleandpaula.com
My friend, Salena, and I used to play MG in my back yard when we were little. I remember watching the show every afternoon at my babysitter's house. Ah, the good old days. Why aren't there shows like this for kids nowadays?

It's nice to say hello, hello, hello
It's nice to say hello, hello and how are you?

I'm fine, me, too
we're fine and how are you?

My younger son has been dubbed the chuckle patch, from that show!

My sister was absolutely in love with Sherlock when we were little.

Life would be great if someone would put the shows out on DVD!!!

When my dd was about 3 they "played" in Staten Island and I took her to see the show. (she's 16 now) I couldn't believe how I remembered all the songs. I loved watching them.

My 6 year old loves the movie. My Aunt has it and every time we go over there she asks to watch it. I think she has seen it 100 times. It is an older movie but still entertaining. :flower:

Yes,l I used to watch that and Romper room every day. Remember Romper Room and the magic mirror??

I have such happy memories of that show....
The Stories are here, they're all in here, from Fancy Fox to Goldilocks.....
Paula & Carol Rocked!

Lauren :flower:

Thanks for the website and the memories!!!!

I wished the website showed some more pictures though.

I remember one of the girls looking through the mirror and saying goodbye to lots and lots of first names and I remember hoping that she would say my name.

She never did. My name was rare back then.

WOW! Blast from the past! I loved watching magic garden with my 2 sisters. we knew all the words to every song.

Romper Room too! At the end I always waited to hear my name! She never did say it:(

How about wonderrama and HR Puff n stuff? :rotfl:

Romper Room-she never said my name, either. That blasted Susan girl would get mentioned, but Suzie or Suzanne-never!

Wokka du, Wokka du, wokka du! I've been known to sing "Kids are People, too"

Suzanne

I loved Kids are people too! Yes they are! LOL

Was this show an east coast thing?

I use to LOVE this show... My friend Angela and I use to play this in my back yard on my swing set. Angela has Black Hair and I had blonde so we would wear them in braids. Angela also played the guitar.. We used my MoM daisy bush with our riddles shoved in it for the giggle patch.. We didn't have a squirrel so we used my rabbit as Sherlock...But my rabbit would never eat the peanuts... :rotfl: thanks for the memories, that was an awesome show..

as for Romper Room, I was a lucky one, Stacy was a common name and I remember hearing it once or twice... :Pinkbounc I would tell my Grandma right away, they said my name.... :cloud9:

I loved this show when I was a kid. I'd start watching it but my mom and my older sister would turn General Hospital on and I'd run to my room crying.

I loved that show!!!! I wish some cable channel would rerun it. My most distinct memory is that I remember the flowers (is that the giggle patch?) would start wiggling and then a card appeared? Oh, the memories! :)

LOVED The Magic Garden. It's my all time favorite show from when I was a kid.
A few years ago they had a special that I taped. I can't find the tape now, though. It was as good as I remembered!

I'm another one who remembers The Magic Garden and Romper Room, two of my favorite shows when I was little. Not only should they release those 2 shows either on DVD or on another cable channel, but do any of you remember The Electric Company? That was my all-time favorire show to watch as I was growing up!!!! Julia Grownup and Jennifer of the Jungle, boy was that a GREAT show!!!! If any show should be put back on TV, it's that one!!! :teeth: Well, maybe someday!!!! :goodvibes :cool1:

We're gonna turn it on
We're gonna bring you the power
We're gonna light up
The dark of night
Like the brightest day
In a whole new way

We're gonna turn it on
We're gonna bring you the power
It's coming down the line
Strong as it can be

Great tv shows! I miss them ::yes::

Remember Bob McAllister from Wonderama? My very favorite part was the snake cans..it was so exciting to see someone open the lid and get the flower bouquet.
