My speical needs DS loves videos. We go through spurts with them. First is was BARNEY, then the WIGGLES, then ALICES ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND now...it is a very old Gullah Gullah island video that he found of his sister's. Does anyone remember them? I checked out E-bay and there is one seller selling them I am hoping to go our local library to rent some or to our used bookstore to buy some cheaper than $9.99 plus shipping. I know this will last about a month and then he will be on to something new. Anyone seen these videos a little cheaper somewhere?? Amazon has them listed but when you click it goes to another site for $19.99 and some are $38.00 for a VIDEO?!?!?!? Yikes.

Do you have a Save a Lot by you? Ours had videos for $1 about a month ago. If I am out and about tomorrow I will stop in and check if they have any left.

I remember it. I found it very annoying- but my dd liked it. What was the frog thing's name?

I remember Gullah Gullah Island! My DD loved the upbeat songs.

What was the frog thing's name?

Er...I don't know if I should admit to knowing this...it was Binya Binya Polliwog.

Come and lets play together in the bright sunny weather. Let's all go to Gullah Gullah Island. Gullah Gullah.

It was very popular when I was in kindergarten. I remember watching it before I went and then my friends and I would talk about it lol

Everybody's favorite frog! :rotfl: My girls LOVED that show. I have to admit I even watched it with them and sang along. I found it pretty a little annoying at times though.

Oh yeah! Gullah Gullah Island! I loved to watch this with DS.. Shh.. Just between us, please. What ever happened to it?!?

My kids loved that show too, sorry I can't help you find a better deal on videos...I wish I could still get copies of The Big Comfy Couch myself for my nieces.

Lori- I have a copy of the Big Comfy Couch. Well not me, my DS. We actually found it at a garage sale. :)

Do you have a Big Lots near you? I think I remember seeing them there a while back and very cheap.. I remember this show very well. It was very popular when my DD13 was a toddler. We even owned that big stuffed pollywog and we still sing that silly little haircut song when we go to the salon! And people complained about Barney??? Good luck.

Oh, that was another big favorite of DD's when she was little! Loonette (Alyson Court) did a meet-and-greet at a local mall when DD was three...we waited in line for hours to see her! (DH and other husbands were grumbling that they should also get to sit on Loonette's lap since they waited, too. :teeth: )

We had a bunch of these and I just gave them to the Thrift Shop last week. I knew I should have saved them! My girls are 15 & 17 now but when they were younger, this was one of their favorite shows.

I knew it too! That was my daughters favorite show and we had a baby Simean living in our house for awhile (not a real one, he was pretend)

Both my DD's loved Gullah Gullah Island when they were toddlers. It was a cute show, but the theme song had a tendency to get stuck in my head-still does apparently!!

My boys used to watch Gullah Gullah faithfully every day before lunch! Wow, where has the time gone, now they're teenagers and driving!

that was a great show. Another great happy kids show down the tubes :(

I might be able to help you out, it's not an official video tape but I do have a bunch of episodes on a tape that I recorded back to back. Haven't watched it in ages, but there's a bunch of epi's on it.

Back when younger DD was about 2 or 3 we took a long trip and before we left I recorded a bunch of her favorite shows to keep her occupied on the drive, and that was one of them. I also have the Big Comfy Couch, Magic School Bus, Blues Clues and Barney.

I will never forget it because at the last minute MIL decided to go with us and it was a 2 day drive there, we had to re-arrange the van seating and she was sitting next to the TV for those 2 days there and 2 days back and when we got home she stepped out of the van and said if she never heard the words Gullah Gullah again she would be very happy :rotfl:

PM me with your address and I can drop it into the mail if you would like (I think DD will be OK with getting rid of it :teeth: )

I loved that this show celebrated the gullah dialect and heritage from the lowcountry of South Carolina. I always enjoyed watching it with my DS.

My dd turned 5 today, but she watched it as an infant in her exersaucer! She would jump along with the music and giggle! Wow- time has flown! I hope you find them!
