anyone recommend a good vacum?

I like Sears' Kenmores. My last one just broke and its 13 years old and I hate that I have to get a new one. I loved this one. I need an upright with power! It has to be powerful! I don't like the stupid ones that are bagless, hated the old ones they had. So what is out there these days?

I looked at Sears and not seeing one. So tell me about your brand.

ANd do you like your bagless one??

Unfortunately I ma of no help. I didn't like what Kenmore had to offer since I don't like vacuums with bags. We wound up with a Dyson (bought from sears). Good luck and here is a bump

Not an upright, but nothing's compared to the Miele I have now.

I love my dyson, just got it a few months ago and it works wonderfully.

Had a hoover wind tunnel that clogged up after every vacuuming. Hated it.

I can believe how easy the dyson handles and the amount of dog hair that it picks up.

Also, I was online at gottadeal.com and got a 30% off code for Kohls and used it online for a great deal on the latest model.

We have a Kenmore that we got in Nov. We have Hepa filter bags with it which are great. I don't like bagless either. I don't know the model off hand but it's the one Consumer Report rated very high.

All I keep reading about is Dyson vaccs but I'm not in position to spend 400-500 on a vacc so I bought a Bissell that I really like but I also don't have any pets so that could make a difference. I used to love nothing but a hoover and now those give out so quickly. It certainly isnt' easy trying to pick something out is it?

Why do they try to make a product better just to make it worse

We just bought a Eureka smartvac upright. It was fairly priced and it rox. We just got it about a month ago and I love it. The attatchments are great and it picks up dog hair extremely well.

Edit: We found ours at walmart but they only had one color.

I just went and looked. It's a Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive. It also has the Inteli Clean System. I think it was around $200 but Sears is always having sales so I'm sure you can wait for a deal if it's a lot more now.

Sears is really funny these days. The One I looked at online was 99.00 Friday, then today at the store it is 119.00, then today online it is 79.00 so it makes sense to order it online for store pickup. Gotta watch those prices in stores now! JC Penny did the same to me, online price is cheaper and they won't honor that at the store.

I have been married 10 years and have bought 8 vacuums (apparently I am rough on them?) Everything from Kenmore, Bissell, Hoover and Eureka. This last Christmas I finally got a GOOD vacuum.....DYSON! It SUCKS! It is soooo simple to use, even the attachments! It really does a GREAT job!

I would highly recommend a DYSON to anyone!

I also have to say the Dyson Animal. Its great on pet hair! We have a beagle that I swear should be bald with the amount he sheds!
