We are going in Feb. and received the rate of $55.00. Your comments will be greatly appreciate. We have only stayed at Riverside in the past.

We just spent 4 days at Asmu. We stayed at Rock Inn,third floor,we loved the location it was quiet and close to the piano pool. As for the room, yes, it's small ,but, if you will be spending most of your time at the parks it's perfect!! If you have children they will love the arcade they have all sorts of games and prizes.
We only encountered friendly CM's who made our stay even better. We would definately stay here if we go commando again. You get the Disney feel at a great price. If you have free days at the end of your vacation you might want to move to POR since it has more to offer as a hotel,if,you are not visiting any parks. We splitted our stay between ASMu and AKL and it was perfect!!

Though it has not been recently, DH and I have stayed at the ASMu resort at the Calypso Inn! It was in 2001 and it was OUTSTANDING!! :p The room was within minutes of the buses, food court and swimming pool. Now the Calypso is a preferred area, but I'd pay the extra $10 if I couldn't get in to the Jazz which is also in a good location. All the CMs were very friendly and the longest we ever waited for a bus was about 45 minutes to the AK. It seemed as though the buses didn't run as frequently to the AK and the waits were longer than the other parks. I loved the food court. Not just your average burger and fries. You had so many other options to chose from and it was a nice change when you wanted a good hot meal, but not having to leave the resort to get it. DH and I were on the bottom floor and we never had any problems with people who were too noisy above us. And for being so close to the pool, noise was not a factor either. We were on the backside of the pool, facing the parking lot and I think that made a big difference. Speaking of parking, I never remember being parked long distances away from our room. We only drove our car to DD and to other resorts for dinner, but upon returning, parking close was not an issue. :jester: As much as I love the Grand Floridian and would enjoy a stay there, I'm cheap.... I want my money for food and gifts, so DH and I will ALWAYS stay at the Allstars and we will probably only stay at the ASMu resort on top of that!

ENJOY YOUR STAY! HAVE A BLAST!!! :teeth: :sunny:

We've stayed at ASMu 2X and love it. We would certainly return.

I like the Jazz building better than Clypso. Ask for a 3rd floor room facign the other Jazz building. You'll have a great view of the little rose garden.

The food court is good and their pizza deal is the best buy on WDW property IMHO.

We stayed in Calypso three nights over Columbus Day weekend.
We are returning for eight nights next month. And I am taking my chances on the building.
We had friends who were in Broadway when we were in Calypso. It wasn't bad back there. They had a nice quiet pool and it was more serene and seemed fresher back there anyway. :)
I liked ASMo better. But only because we were in the Woody building. That was GREAT. But I have no qualms about staying in ASMu again. :)
Columbus Day weekend was busy, and it still was not bad in any way. I don't expect it to be as busy when we are there next month.

we stayed at ASMu in september and loved it! we were in the broadway section on the 3rd floor facing into the little courtyard area between the 2 broadway buildings. yes, the rooms are small, but unless you plan to spend lots of time in your room, it doesn't seem to matter. we were near the piano pool which was great at night...

next time we go, we plan to try a moderate...but i would return to the ASMu if there was a phenomenal rate!!

We just returned from ASMu and liked the resort overall. We had the preferred location, Calypso building and it was very convenient. The bus service was excellent, never more than 10 minutes for a bus although sometimes crowded. The room was clean and the service was wonderfull with many great CM's.

My only complaint is the food court. I found it much to crowded in the morning, not a big problem as we eat breakfast in the room. Not many selections for lunch or dinner, and very very slow service. During our stay, while there are lots on the "menus" every time we ordered there were 2 or 3 items weren't avaliable. This happened over the course of 5 days so it wasn't isolated. I also noticed the beverage/condiment island was not kept clean and the tables were very dirty every time we went.

If we were to return to the All Stars I would plan meals elsewhere! YMMV.

Well, I hate to be a wet blanket, but my experiences at ASMu have been mixed, at best. We stayed February 2002 and thought it was fine, for the money. We stayed again November 2002 and vowed, never again! Our biggest complaint was that we were placed in a non-smoking room in a non-smoking row, yet our room reeked of stale smoke and fresh smoke drifted into our room from the connecting door. Guest services sent up a mousekeeper who fogged the room with industrial strength Glade. It left the room unusable for hours. When we asked to be moved, the CM said the resort was full up for the next week, due to Super Soap Week, New Jersey Week and Epcot Food and Wine Festival. He also asserted that no one would be smoking in a room marked no smoking. We stuck it out, but the room stank and depressed the heck out of me. Should I have pressed harder? Probably, but I'm new at being nervy. Our next trip will definitely be at a moderate, even if it means shortening our trip.

The CMs also did not seem to be able to keep up with cleaning the building. The same pile of puke was in the stairwell near our room for the entire 10 days. Half eaten pizzas remained overnight at the pool and fed the birds. Things like that. The CMs in the Food Court were hopelessly understaffed and it showed -- orders were messed up or forgotten and tempers were short. We also had a mousekeeper who had to be reminded daily to leave extra towels for the pool and extra pillows to elevate my disabled husband's leg. I was very disappointed with our stay and thought it only fair to share it with you.

We stayed at the ASMU but it was back in 98. We were on a family reunion so it was the best choice for everyone because of cost. We had a nice stay and it's a good value for the $$, especially when you're paying 55.00, great rate!

I'd go back to an All-star, probably just Movies(it looks so cute!), to try it for a couple nights but I wouldn't spend our whole trip there, just because we enjoy the amenities at the moderate and deluxe resorts.

Have a great trip!!!!

We just got back from ASMu on Saturday and had a WONDERFUL trip.
Room was very clean, cm's were very friendly (especially in the food court), and the price was definitely right- $49.00 per night.
We have stayed at Deluxes' and Moderates' before realizing that this was one of the few places where we did not think a more expensive hotel was worth the $.
We have spent 23 days at ASMu in the past 14 months and the only mild complaint is I never get my request to get in Jazz, we have been in Broadway each time. For some reason the walk seemed less this trip vs previous trip so it wasn't bad.
Bus service great, loved Maestro Mickey's, and the food court is very convenient for a family w/ 2 small kids.
I can't say enough good about the ASMu.
