Is the segway tour worth the money? My daughter wants to go on the horseback riding thing... my DS (17) would sooner die. So... thinking of sticking him on the segway tour with DH.... is it worth it?

My 16 year old son and I did it last March, we really enjoyed it and would do it again. Who knows if its "worth" the money or not, it's kind of hard to justify many costs at Disney as there is little to compare it to.

I would say it is totally worth the cost! Both of my older children can't wait to try it. Epcot's tour around the World Showcase is my personal favorite, followed by the one offered in Fort Wilderness. Nature Inspired Design is the most recent (and longest) Epcot tour, but is more about behind the scenes information than riding a Segway... so I put it in a different category.

I think your guys will love it!

I gave my DS and DW the gift of a Segway Tour AND horseback riding last Christmas. They both loved the Segway AND horseback riding and rave about it to this day. My reason for doing both was that our DS (age 19) "would sooner die" doing the horseback riding thing too. BUT since Mom was a good sport and did the Segway even though she was a bit afraid of it at first, I told him he had to return the favor. As it turns DW loved the Segway more than she thought and DS (to his own surprise and ours too) loved the horseback ride. In fact he has asked if we are going to do it again next trip! Sometimes people surprise you and their anticipation of what is fun or not overcomes the real feeling once they try something new. I say do them both if you are able to and spread the fun around.

My DH did the FW Segway tour last December and it was one of the highlights of his trip. They got to go to some of the "backwoods" areas of the Fort and look around. The trails were really neat. He is not the least bit coordinated and he did great!

Highly recommend it!:thumbsup2
