Anyone recently do the Hyatt to Port transfer?

I’m getting conflicting reports as to timing. Some have said that the Hyatt folks go the port on a separate bus and it leaves before the first transfer bus. I’ve also been told the gathering in the Hyatt lobby is about 10:00 and the Hyatt bus doesn’t necessarily leave first. Which is it? I have the first PAT and want to get there as early as possible.

We are doing the same thing... the person I made my transfer reservation told me they start boarding busses at 9am and to follow the signs. This is our first Disney Cruise, I am a little nervous about it.

We have not done a Hyatt to Port transfer, but we are staying at the Hyatt the night before our cruise on May 16. We're sailing concierge, and I asked the concierge team about this, and they confirmed that the Hyatt transfer is at 10:00 am or later. We are opting to bring our own luggage and board the earliest bus, which DCL Concierge says will be around 9:20 am - 9:30 am.

(We want to get there as early as possible, because our suite will be ready when we board :) )

I'm still very confused. Is there still a transfer service from Hyatt to the Port? Would I book this through DCL? I've seen other people saying that DCL no longer does this, and we have to book through Mears Connect or something like that? But when I looked at Mears Connect, it looked like the only destinations were the resorts. Would be nice if I could just ask a DCL customer service rep, but they don't seem to exist anymore.

I think you are confusing the cruise transfers to the WDW hotel transfers. Disney no longer provide Magical Express which is the hotel transfer from the airport. Instead Mears Connect has been established to cover these routes.

The cruise transfers are a paid for option Disney has always run separately to Magical Express. These can be added to any cruise at cost and can be from the airport or from the hotel itself as discussed in this thread

Yes, there is a transfer from Hyatt to DCL. You arrange the airport transportation through DCL, and with the Hyatt AND DCL for the luggage transfer.

I took the DCL transportation from the Hyatt last week. They have a desk right in the lobby. The staff the desk starting at 8:30 and they start taking your luggage information then to pick your luggage up from your room. At that time they told me to come back at 10am. At 10:00 they have you check in for the bus and give you a character showing which bus you have. Once they call the bus character they walk you downstairs to the bus. We were on the first bus which left about 10:30 and we arrived at the port around 11:15 am. They then walked us to testing. By the time I was in the terminal they were already on boarding group 9 and since we were automatically assigned boarding group 5 just walked straight on. We were in Cabanas by noon.

I was disappointed that the bus left later than was my experience in October 2021. However, we arrived only 4 boarding groups late so it really wasn't a huge deal. We're booked on the Wish in August and I plan on staying at the Hyatt again (which I'm using credit card points for) and taking DCL transportation since it is so easy.

Do you have to go at the time that they tell you or can you just grab your own luggage and pop downstairs and take a bus as if you've just gotten off a flight?

This is what we do. I pay for DCL transfers from MCO, not the Hyatt. That morning, we take our luggage downstairs and check in there. We’re typically on the first bus.

I’m interested to nail down this detail as well please.
I was able to speak to DCL customer service today and reserve ground transportation from Hyatt MCO to port and then from port to WDW Port Orleans resort. I then booked transportation from WDW back to airport at the end of our trip through Mears Connect.

We did the transfers in December 2021 and then March 25, 2022. In December, they loaded us at 8:30 and we were one of the first ones at port. A few weeks ago, we didn't start loading till 10:00 and didn't get into the terminal till they had already started boarding.

Can I jump in and ask, if you book the MCO transfer do you still need to select a PAT or is this allocated based on when the shuttle gets to the port? Just trying to look at priority order for bookings

You shouldn't need a PAT (though with Disney IT, who knows), but if you're talking about when your booking window opens, that's actually not when you select one anymore. You do the checkin at 30 days. Bookings for port adventures, dining, activities, etc. are all done based on your Castaway Club status.

Ah OK I had forgotten PAT date was different to port adventures date! Glad you mentioned this!

I actually prefer it this way. I feel like I'm less freaked out about getting everything done, especially with Disney's IT issues.

Unrelated, in your sig, was there something you filled out with ticky boxes or something to get you those stats? I'm super curious!

Yes there used to be on here the golden spoon challenge. This was from this before it stopped being a thing. There was a full list of restaurants and you'd select those that you had dined at. http://web.archive.org/web/20161113071332/http://www.birdsofpreydave.com:80/GoldenSpoon.html is the webpage version but its not updated any longer
