Has anyone read A Million Little Pieces by James Frey? That book was so good! What an awesome story...he is amazing to have overcome his addictions.

The ending just tore me up. I was not expecting that sad epilogue.

I read it two weeks ago over the weekend. I could not put it down. It was very moving and candid. I, too was very sad at the epilogue. But you know they told us a few times that the success rate was 17% in that program and that was high by national standards. I wish we knew more of why Lilly did what she did at the end, I mean it was like he was coming to start a life with her :confused3 And I simply cannot imagine going thru the dental procedures he did. Eh gads.

He wrote a sequel if, I remember correctly, talks about that time some more.

Yeah, I read it and was devastated.

Go get My Friend Leonard . It is the sequel and goes into more detail about everything that happened including the time he spent in jail.

James Frey will be on Oprah on Monday, Jan. 2nd. It's a repeat but worth watching again ... and esp. if you missed it the first time around!

Also, accoding to the Oprah site, he'll be on the Oprah after-show today (Fri., Dec. 30th) on Oxygen network.

You can go to Oprah's website (www.oprah.com) and find out more if you'd like!

I thought the book was very good ... however, I found that it didn't keep me up all night like it did for Oprah. I found that I had to read it in small chunks b/c it was so overwhelming at times. I couldn't "devour" it b/c it was painful to read!!!

I cried like a baby when I read that epilouge (sp). :guilty:
The girlfriend was too much for me to take. I have no idea how he didn't go back to drinking when she died. :guilty: What a strong guy.

I will check it out. I had no idea there was a sequel, but I'd love to know more about his rehab friends. Thanks for the heads up.

It just came out and is still in hardcover. DD (14) bought it for me as a Christmas gift and I finished it in 3 days.

I read both books and could not put them down. I picked up Million Pieces in Costco and read the first paragraph, that did it for me. I didn't realize it was an Oprah pick when I bought it however. Great choice! My Friend Leanord is just as riveting and really got to me as well. I read both of these books over the holiday time, when I was winding down from a busy day.

Great reads!

That is a great book! I was another one who couldn't put it down...read it in 2 days. I'd still like to read My Friend Leonard.
