How pregnant were you, how restricted were you on rides, and how was your experience? I'm talking to those of you who went pregnant, not GOT pregnant there. lol :lmao: We're thinking of trying soon, and also thinking of going back in Jan. or Feb. We also have one son who will be 6 then. Thanks for the input!

I went to DLP when i was 7 months pregnant, I was still able to do all the fantasyland rides. I also went on POC (although there is some debate whether you should go on it, but i did!), Haunted mansion, Catastrophe canyon at the studios. I took it slowly and we did lots of sitting and eating!! :thumbsup2

I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow and I'm 4 months pregnant. This will be my first time going while pregnant so it should be interesting. I hope this thread gets some replies before I head out. I plan on of course not riding any of the major thrill rides. Food is going to be a big part of this trip as my appetite is huge now. None of my doctors had any concerns about me going just suggested what you would expect, make sure you rest and drink lots of water. They all agreed it was a perfect vacation as the walking would be really good for both me and the baby. I was told going during the 2nd trimester was best as you have more energy. Just so happened we already had this trip planned before we got pregnant and thankfully it landed in the 2nd trimester. Woohoo can't wait to get there!

I went when I was 4 1/2 months pregnant with my twins. I wasn't able to ride the "major" rides, but there was still plenty I could do. Make sure you take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated. One things for sure, I was definately pampered by most of the CM's! Probably because I looked like I was further along then I was.

We had a great time, and as long as you listen to your body and have your doctors okay, you should be great!

I have been there twice while pregnant-at 22 weeks (in February) and 34 weeks (April-May). It was great although a bit warm on the second trip. I didn't do any of the mountains, TT, RnR, or ToT, but I did do the safari on both trips. Drink lots of water, spend some time in the pool, and have fun!

You'll have a great time. I went when I was about 5 1/2 months (March '04) and felt wonderful. At the time, DD was 17 months so I could do just about anything that she could do. I did not do the Safari at AK as a CM advised me not to. I took advantage of the time and sat on a bench in the shade and enjoyed the rest. I would definitely do it again.

I was 5 months(20weeks) when we went to Disney last time( Feb.2004) it didn't get to hot out so my experience is probably totally different than going in the summer. I did get tired after lunch and we would go back to the resort for a break/nap.My DD was almost 3 at the time so it worked out great for us both. DH would go to the pool or explore the resort(POR) Our room was really far from the bus depot. So think about the extra walking. A couple times on the buses they were so full that I would have to stand back to the resort. Hopefully you'll have some more polite adults on your buses :furious: I even gave my seat up one night for an elderly woman. Then a man asked if I wanted his seat. I rode the rides in Fanastyland but that was all. I know most guide books tell you which rides you shouldn't ride. And I'm sure a liability to the parks. Drink lots of water. My first pregnancy I was on bed rest from 26 weeks on. And even with that my Dr. had no problems with me going. He told me to listen to my body, drink lots of water, rest when I needed to. My Family had a great time and we're going back
May 2007 before the youngest turns 3. And this time we will stay at a momorail resort. And I'll give my seat to any one who needs it ;)

Hi

Congratulations! We went when I was in my 1st Trimester, only about 10 weeks pregnant. Hadn't told anyone but hubby yet. Because we tried for so long and had gone through fertilty doc, etc. thought about cancelling. But we went and it was great. Did not ride any major rides, but still had a great time. It was an excuse to slow down and enjoy each other. We went in December so weather was cooler. But if you go slowly, rest when you feel like and keep hydrated I see no reason you would not enjoy yourself.

But watch out, because my son is now a member of the Disney cult. Have fun!

I went to WDW a couple of years ago while about 20 weeks pregnant. It was June so the heat took quite a toll on me :sunny: I was able to ride lots of stuff but we did slow down and take it easy, drank lots of water and took lots of rest breaks. I didn't ride the Safari but DSIL did (she was around 28 weeks) she just asked to sit up front. Good luck :sunny:

I was just about 8 months pregnant when I, my husband and 3 year-old went at the end of May a few years ago. It was hot and beginning to get humid but I had so much fun and did fine! Just drank lots of water, sat down when I could to get off my feet. We did all the "slow" rides - nothing too bumpy or fast. I got a lot of shaking head, "you poor, pathetic thing" kinds of looks (due to the heat/size of my stomach!) but I had a ball. No problems at all. Sometimes, people even offered me a seat on the bus! Wow.
Best of luck to you.

I went last June at almost 7 months and it was great! I did have a virus the first day so that was a bit rough but otherwise I had a ball! We also had our two little ones with us (17 months and just 3 years old). I rode a bunch of rides but stayed away from the thrill rides. I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2 It was so nice swiming in the pool too! :cloud9:

Our first trip, I was in my 2nd trimester and we went in the cooler months.

I still had to stop and rest once in a while, but it was easy as can be. Pretty much anything the little kids could ride on, I could ride on. There are some that have warning signs outside, due to motion or danger, and I just avoided all of those. I rode SO much, though - I think Disney did an amazing job at making sure that no matter WHAT your age, you can experience the magic of Disneworld.

Obviously, I skipped things like Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, Mission:Space, etc. But there are so many other things - so many shows, too. And when the older kids went on a ride with Dad, I'd take the little ones to get a snack, rest in the shade, or see something else :)

Also have ds 4 and ds 2 (and ds 15 but he's pretty independent :rotfl: ) I was fine. Dh joined the kids on the rides I couldn't go on- Tot, Rnrc, Barnstormer, Indi reacecars ('cause I was afraid I couldn't fit in the car). The rides I did go on were: Dumbo, Astro Orbitor, Buzz, Jungle Cruise, Pooh, Peter Pan- I just avoided the rides w/ a warning for preg women.
As for comfort, I wore comfy shoes, rested often, drank lots of water and we went at a fairly mild time of year (1st week of April)

Once at about 8 weeks and once at about 6 months. Definitely err on the side of caution when deciding about rides/attractions. They'll be there when you return in a less fragile state. The only advice you need at WDW is the same advice you should listen to throughout your pregnancy, listen to your body! DO NOT push yourself. Take short breaks while you're at the parks and longer ones in the afternoon back at your resort. Stay hydrated, water, water and more water. Forget about any commmando style touring this trip.

Believe it or not, both these trips I took were during the same preganancy, my last one. So we were there with our 3 girls. I really, really enjoyed these trips because I was forced to take it easy and relax more. WDW at a slower pace was wonderful! I enjoyed our resort more. We lingered over our meals longer.

We are heading back for the first time since and I am hoping I can keep things more relaxed even now. Of course you are only as strong as your weakest link and since the prince will only be 16 months...we'll have to go a bit slow.

All the best to you and yours!

I was 3-4 mos preggo when we went in Jan. My then 3 yr old son didnt go for the "big" ticket rides thankfully. I rode just about everything in Fantasyland, skipped the tea cups (spinning not good), was very concerned/cautious on the Indy Cars (bumping can be bad), etc. I avoided anything that bumped along, spun around a lot, roller coasters, and smelled funky (morning sickness, though I never got sick).

Try to avoid the sun as much as possible (can cause a funky mask on your face), avoid the heat and humidity, and drink tons of water (which means you will also need to know where the bathrooms are). I get so dried out walking around WDW, even in Feb and when I wasnt preggo, so keeping hydrated is important. Take frequent breaks and try to put your feet up to avoid swelling (especially later in pregnancy). Smells (food, perfume, etc) may or may not be a problem the first few months (morning sickness). Also eat well.

Went in Dec 5 months pregnant, great weather, low crowds, but was amazed at how tired I would become very quickly.

We are returning this July, I will be 17 weeks pregnant. Planning on alot of down time which we do anyway on summer trips. Our daughter will be 14 months so she and I will shop alot while dad and her db's 16 and 13 ride the big rides.

I avoid anything with the word "Mountain" in the title.

I was about 21 weeks pregnant on our last trip. I was a bit worried about how tired I would get, but I surprised myself and was only slightly more tired than I normally would be! I didn't mind skipping certain rides since we had already taken 2 trips in 2005, and I knew we'd be back many times in the future. It was a great trip, I'm glad we did it. :)

Oh, good luck! :wizard:

I went when I was 6 weeks or so and also about 3 months. I rode everything except for RnR, ToT, & Mission Space. Yes, I did ride BTMR, SM, Safari, Goofy's Barnstomer, Malestorm, POC (while you couldn't ride that beats me). NO, I'm not a doctor; I do have friend who is an OB & he said they were fine.
JMO.

I was 15 weeks. I skipped Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, Mission Space (I think this was open then), Test Track, Kali River Rapids, Splash Mountain.. etc. Generally everything that said pg women should ride. I did, however, go on the safari ride and was fine.

I expect to be pg when we go back this coming Jan.... no worries. It's a good time.

We went last month when I was 24 weeks with #3. DD4 and DH went on all the thrill rides that she was tall enough for and DS1.5 and I sat out what we had to. Basicaly if he couldn't ride it, then I didn't. Before we left Dh told me he didn't want me to do anything that had a warning sign on it, but then he did the Kali River Rapids and urged me to go on it. I did and it was great. We also all went on the Safari. And we all did PoTC. Didn't realize that anyone would skip that when PG...

We were pretty busy and I was the only one in our family that didn't take a nap in the whole trip. I think I get a vacation adrenaline high. Obviously we kept drinking water and could only go as fast as the stroller. But I realize that I was pushing the Graco double stroller (15 pounds or so?) with 70 pounds of kid in it while carrying a backpack and DH was walking alongside of me! :rotfl2: When I pointed this out to him he did take the stroller...

I'm of the mind that there is very little one can't do when pregnant. It's a condition, sure, but not a disabling one (of course for some people it is, but for many it isn't)! Go to WDW and ENJOY!
