Anyone Planning to do Nothing (park related) on their DVC next trip?

are you trying to scae me? :earseek:

anyway since I brought an annual pass - we are definitely doing the parks on SOME days. others definitely relaxing around the pool. Just enjoying being in Orlando!

Our last trip in June we did not visit any of the theme parks. We spent one day at Typhoon Lagoon. The rest of the week was spent at OKW's pools and spending time at DTD. We visit the parks quite a few times a year, so spending a relaxing week at the resort was very nice.

The name of the BW pool is Luna Park. Anyone ever see the clown at the real Luna Park?

Now this is scary! The BW clown is nothing compared to this one!

Yikes! That looks like the sea witch from Little Mermaid, just in different colors. Welcome to Luna Park!

DW and I are going to SSR in October to do nothing (Park-related, that is) all week. But we plan to pool hop to our hearts' content. So, I gotta know... where is this scary clown? I missed that in the previous posts.

Boardwalk's Luna pool. It is a bit scary, reminding me a Stephen King's IT.

More propaganda. Only if IT was a cuddly bunny! There is NOTHING scary or parklike about that slide. There is less to do with what the clown looks like and more to do with some people just have a clown hang-up.

I've finally found the thread for me here at Dis. People who like to do nothing and are somewhat put off by clowns, that is SO me. All this time my DH says I'm crazy, but now I can tell him I'm just a niche market and I've finally found my niche! As for doing nothing, I like to do nothing at AK. Which technically is a park, but has lots of nice, quiet trails to sort of wander down and do nothing.

BTW: the real Luna Park clown, YIKES! I have a ressie to see the BWV clown in January. I'm a little afriad but I'm trying to bear up under the challenge. Who knows, might even have some kind of a break through while I'm there. :rotfl:

I hear at night he travels from balcony to balcony looking in the doors just to freak people out who are doing nothing in their DVC resort. He's gonna get you......

What to do on a non-park day....

1. Shopping. There are so many things we can't get up here in Canada I always come back with a suitcase full. Oddly enough it's the grocery stores and Sonoma Williams where I get the most stuff.

2. Golfing. This one is to make my DH totally into the whole Disney thing. Last time we went during Funai. I think it made one of his favourite vacations. (My DH is 6' 7" so doesn't fit into most WDW rides easily -- so the rides won't do it for him --- he's really patient with me -- although I do have to go single rider a lot of the time.) This time we'll actually play a round...

3. Enjoying that it's not 30 degrees below zero between Dec and March. (It's been 50 degrees out and we'll swim --- we usually have the whole pool to ourselves....)

4. No kids yet... so ... :love2:

(Don't find clowns that scary currently but then again this December will be our first visit to BWV. Even if it really cold out we'll still be in the pool..... who knows I may come back with a clown phobia.)

I thought that was Johnny Depp?? Maybe I misread something. That's nothing new.

Maybe we're both right and it's Johnny Depp in a clown suit!

IT is whatever you fear the most: CLOWNS, GIANT SPIDERS... and yes, indeedy, Johnny Depp...not to mention a face to face encounter with NOTHING!!!!!!!!

Nope. We have an AKL Concierge's trip in December with a full plate. I will need a vacation from this vacation. :teeth:

Welcome and exactly. For our AKL 20th anniversary trip next August DP and I plan to do close to nothing for at least 9 days! We're even going to practice it!

I'm sure you're right. Nothing, nothing at all-WAIT---LOOK OUT--WHAT'S THAT??

I hope everyone has plans regarding what to do just in case the big bad clown comes to your DVC resort.

This isn't really nothing, (it has to do with nothing park related) but it's VERY DVC related, and would maybe distract people from the scary clown. We're planning on decorating our BWV room a little for Halloween this year. I know people have done that. Has anyone ever been asked to take anything down. What things have you put up? This has nothing to do with the theme parks, and kind of a general question for the DVC community, so I figured it would be ok to ask in the middle of this thread.

I would say this qualifies as nothing! :rotfl:

I have decorated the door with crepe paper and a birthday sign and have seen doors decorated with Halloween stuff. I'm sad to say that someone vandalized some Halloween stuff with "pagan holiday" and they had to take it down. I was not impressed at all that someone would do that in the hallowed (no pun intended) halls of Disney.

Also cool may be a halloween light string on your deck railing.

I have a Mickey Halloween flag we were thinking of hanging from the railing, but we weren't sure if they would allow it. I know there is something against hanging stuff in the membership material, so we could always hang it on the inside window. We also have something for the hallway door. I don't know why people have to mess with other people's stuff all the time. Kind of annoying.

Well, if it isn't allowed they don't enforce it - witness all the christmas decorations that pop up!

This is actually the first I've heard of it being in the material. Given that folks have certainly been open about it here - and given that everything from occupancy to pool hopping to mug refills gets jumped on when rules are bent - I'm surprised there hasn't been more mention of rule breaking!
