Hi all,

I was wondering how many of you prefer to do nothing when you visit your DVC home? And if so, how do you best plan to do nothing?

I like to do nothing at least one day of my trip. Nothing park related I mean. I stay in my DVC accomodations and sometimes do some scrapping, or I might have a beer. Now and then I just sit in the closet eating pop tarts.

When you do nothing park related on a DVC trip what do you do?

this is hilarious...maybe i'll respond this time in show of support!

i plan on doing nothing as soon as I arrive at the BCV this October, of course, after leaving the BCV in the evening, i will head to Le Cellier for my ADR and as soon as I sit down, i will do nothing!

I know the rooms at the DVC are so spacious that its hard, for me at least, to not have my thoughts not turn to world domination when I'm not planning on visiting a park or a restaurant. This may seem odd, but when I'm staying at the BWV I think of starting from the east coast of the US and when I'm staying at the VWL, I think of starting from the west coast. It will be interesting when I stay at the BCV for the first time this Oct.

How wonderful it is to have nothing (back) to do.
That is the blessing of owning DVC...no more commando style, unless it suits the mood.

I was planning on doing nothing on my trip back in May, but then the darn motions for Court got in the way. It all amounted to nothing any ole way. The judge was a crook and he had final say.

And then my trip in October was gonna be fun. Cause instead of nothing I was gonna eat and sun. And drink a Yeungling or two by the pool. No one has ever had less nothing to do.

But now I must wait for early in May. I 'll have a friend to do nothing with all day. Maybe we'll look at a flower or two, or Kungaloosh or sniff some glue (from the scrapbooking I mean...no cause for alarm or to make a big scene).

Glad to see that I've a place to go, when I've nothing to do or the computer runs slow, it isn't that hard to find loopholes these days, better than getting caught up on that OTHER maze. So lets all check in with a toast of good cheer to idratherbehere than over there!

That's absolutely fascinating. Do you have a favorite spot in your DVC home to do this planning? I mean are you more inspired on the balcony or in the Living Room? Or perhaps sitting on the washing machine?

I am sure you and your friend will have a great time doing nothing in May--do I know this friend? :)

Sorry the judge kept you from doing nothing at your DVC villa this past May. I am sure this next trip will afford you many opportunities to do nothing park related. By the way, when I am sitting in the closet of my DVC home doing Nothing on my next trip I am sure there will be room for others. I'll provide the donuts, anyone want to join me in my DVC villa? I'll be there 10/2-10/7, but even if you are there only in spirit you are welcome.

Usually the Living Room. If I have a Boardwalk View, of course I'll sit on the balcony just so I can people watch. It REALLY motivates me to take over. But then if I eat ice cream in front of the fountain at EPCOT, or twirl my napkin at the WCC I usually forget my plans and have to start over again. Maybe next trip I'll write some of them down on paper.

My favorite thing to do nothing it is to watch the laundry wash and dry and then fold it all up and put it away. It reminds me of being home (Maine, home that is) and all the things that I don't have to do at home because I'm on vacation.

I'm really not sure that your scrapbooking counts for nothing however, Mar. I brought some card making supplies with me the last trip - thinking I may get Christmas cards done - until I realized that it was a lot more than nothing, so I decided to go to the parks and do something instead.

I think perhaps I should have gone on a DVC tour or the Member Update, but that is not nothing either, so now perhaps I am off topic.

Since I meant nothing Park Related, not nothing at all, you're not at all off topic.

At OKW, we shoot bottle rockets off the balconies at golfers.

;)

We have closets in the room? I really have to stop spending so much time in the tub doing nothing!

Duckfan, I for one, think that someone who likes Disney enough to buy DVC would not be a bad person to take over the world. If I could find a "world domination" smilie, I would, but I am not idratherbeinwdw, so, here's a pirate for you pirate: . Aarrgghh!

When I'm doing nothing park related, I plan on being a boring DVCer type, and touring SSR since I've never seen it. I'm also a little bummed to miss you by so little, Mar! We're leaving on the 1st!

We will also, I'm sure, go down the sandcastle slide at least 472 times.

Wow, I never even thought of that! There's so much to do at WDW, sometimes it's overwhelming! And here we're visiting OKW for the first time in a little over two weeks, and I could have missed that opportunity...

Oh, of course - I went back and read You will have to excuse me for having an unclear head and somewhat short attention span and memory! You did very clearly indicate that!

I think that since so many DVC members unlike other people who go to WDW are a little more laid back they should get like a little bag of bar mix to eat while they're going over their package of maps and stuff in their room on check-in. It would be a great way to kick off a day of nothingness.

So it was YOU who made me miss that birdie putt!

I was planning on relaxing by the pool with some cold frosties on my 1st trip home. But now I don't know how much to bring....

Can you take a cooler to the pool? If so, can you drink out of the can, or do you have to "wink, wink" pour it into a cup?

Birdie putt :) Who are you kidding :) You were four over
before I even lit it :)

What I want to know is how you hit it out of the bunker without getting sand in your beer.

Duckfan, I can't believe someone else has the same bent on world domination as I do. Although I haven't yet tried this, I'm thinking Epcot World Showcase would be as good a place as any to plot like Dr. Evil, seeing as there would be so many countries to take over there...sit and grab a pint in UK, and look at all the pretty countries... MWAHHHH!!! :smooth:
