Anyone planning a trip in Oct???

We just got back 3-14 from 4 nights at the contemporary and 5 nights at bcv! It was a great trip! Now, I have decided I would like to go back in Oct. to use annual passes again! Does anyone know what park hours are like mid Oct.? Also, does anyone know dates for mnsshp? Any advise for trip planning for Oct.???? Weather???? Any info will be appreciated! tHANKS!!!

We have a trip planned for Oct 18-24!!



We've been to WDW three times in mid-October ('91, '93, '01). The weather was wonderful and the crowds were pretty light too. Although we were never there when the Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP were happening.

Last year MNSSHP was held: Oct 11, 17, 20, 25, 27, 31 and Nov 1. Tickets went on sale April 28, 2002. We plan on attending the party this year and it sounds like it's a blast!

From what I remember the parks closed early in October (For example, I think 7pm for MK).

We'll be there too!! (Oct. 17 - 25) I've not been this time of the year yet but it worked with our schedules and I've heard great things about the crowds and weather!! MNSSHP dates for this year are: 10/10, 10/16, 10/19, 10/24, 10/26, 10/30 and 10/31. November 1st is on a Saturday this year so there will not be a party scheduled for the day after Halloween.

My DD and I will be there Oct 13-18 and its our first time going in October! We are so excited!! Its our first time going for MNSSHP!!! DH & other two DD weren't crazy about trick-or-treating with Mickey, so its just us two for October!!!

My family has been three times for MVMCP and its great!

We're hoping for some good weather and a great time at the Halloween Party!!!!

We'll be honeymooning Oct 26- Nov. 2, I'm too excited!! My FH's birthday is on halloween, but we're not going to MNSSHP, too many kids I think. Please keep an ear out for discount codes, I'm going out of my mind trying to figure out what to do about a resort!!

We'll be there Oct. 23-Nov. 1, staying at Dixie Landing/POR. We've been going in October for many years now and find the hours to be about the same as the spring. Food and Wine festival is a treat during that time also. We pass on the MNSSHP also--done it twice and that was enough.

kmc - someone posted a link a while ago to a website that had the dates, I can't remember the web address but I did write the dates down. Hopefully someone will see this question and post the link again or maybe you could do a search.

We honeymooned at WDW last year in October, 24-28 to be exact. In terms of park hours, MK opened till 9pm only on Saturday. Ecpot closed at 9pm and MGM closed around 7pm or so. The MMNSSHP was on on alternating nights at MK. If there was a MMNSSHP, MK would close at 6pm.

Weather wise, it was so hot, high 80s and low 90s, and humid when we were there. It rained on the first day and sunny for the rest of the trip.

Crowd level was so low. 90% of rides had wait time 5 minutes or less. But MK on Saturday was crazy, but not that bad comparing to the summer time.

The Food & Wine Festival in 2002 was held October 19 to November 17. I don't know this year's dates yet.

I've never stayed at POR. We usually stay at the Poly....it's our "home away from home"

We love POR, although we have always gone in September. This year, we will go 10/8-14. POR is a great resort -- the staff is good, the food is good, the food court pleases everyone and it is so PEACEFUL -- so removed from the vivid colors of the park -- that it gives DS and DD (7/3) a chance to wind down before bed. Great, laid-back pool, too!

We'll be coming "home" on Oct. 28 - Nov. 3. My DW and I are renewing our vows on the 30th. (10 Years!)

We are staying at OKW (for the 2nd time!). We are bringing the kids and we be going to the MNSSHP.

We are planning for Oct. 4-11. The 8th will be our 15th anniversary!

I was also wondering when the codes might come out for then because I was REALLY hoping to stay at the POLY this time!

We have always gone down in the fall - generally around our anniversary and once right after thanksgiving. We have always had great weather - High 80's during the day with little humidity, high 60's in the evening. Very little rain - but you always expect some in FL.

It is a great time of year to go!
