Just wondering - I don't really want to keep trying on international phone call rates! LOL

I phoned just after 7am and he said that they still were not available. I told him that I understood that AP rates were to be available today, and he said "they are not available yet anyway".

Frustrating.

Thanks. I was just going to call but now I'll wait a while. That $50 rate for the Royal Plaza thru Mousesavers is starting to look better as the days go on and on.

p's for the whole country instead of just the state of Florida ? I hope they realize what they have done to there loyal AP holders

Rats!! I was hoping today would be the day!

10:15 a.m. - NOTHING. CM said she wasn't sure if/when they would be available.

And, can I vent? I didn't get an email or postcard offer and you wouldn't believe how many friends/acquaintences have been calling me and telling me all about their offers. I'm happy for them, but I must admit I'm also filled with bitterness.

GIMEEEE! I NEED, I NEED!

P.S. Whew! Thanks - I feel better now.

I have ressies for the Poly later this month with my DW and DS. Am hoping to convert it to an AP holder rate. If not, I am considering cancelling. I got a great e-mail rate for Atlantis in Bahamas. Never been but it seems they want part of my vacation budget more than Disney. HOWEVER, I am ALSO planning a trip with some friends to the Food & Wine Fest for 11/7 thru 11/11. We go every year to this great festival and get AP discounts every year. And now, my DW and I were discussing over Sunday morning coffee about going ALSO down for a long weekend (10/17 - 10/21) - just the two of us for a getaway for the opening weekend of F & W Fest. We always book a deluxe resort and the AP savings is tremendous. The room savings on the AP rate go towards airfare (flying from Massachusetts can get pricey) and makes multi-trips in one year more economical. And these three trips over a a three month period will all happen if AP rates come out. I would book them today. However, without AP rates. it is unlikely we will come down more than once this fall. Which means we won't be dining in Disney restaurants, buying Disney "stuff", etc. In addition, my wife and her sister are going down Columbus Day weekend. They are now preparing to book the Swan or Dolphin instead of the other Disney resorts because of the lack of AP discounts.

I realize AP rates aren't a given, but it definitely draws us to come down more often than we would if they weren't available. And the more often we are there, the more we spend in Disney. I know this is true for most of us here. Owning a business myself, it seems like a no-brainer: Disney should be enticing us to come down more often to get bigger piece of our vacation budget. Instead, they think of us last (if at all). There are so many other places to visit and so many of the places that are offering deals. It may be time to start taking advantage of them. It's obvious Disney doesn't care. I don't want to hear them whining in the news that park attendance is off - they have the power to offset some of that.

I have been wanting to go there, but disney has always been priority one. How do you get on the atlantis e-mail list?

Just go on to the Atlantis Resort website (can't remember off-hand but Google could help you) and register. It really is a neat website - and the specials I was offered through the e-mail were unbelievable.

I have to laugh......I just got an e-mail from my brother. He said he got a postcard in the mail yesterday from WDW offering room discounts through the end of September. The kicker is: he has been to Walt Disney World only twice since it opened - and stayed on-site only one of those times! I'll have to e-mail him back to see how deep the discount is. He said he plans on going to Las Vegas for vacation next and doesn't even consider Disney. I'm wondering if Disney realizes how much of a waste of time and money it is advertising and conducting direct mail to a group that is not in the market to visit Disney.
