I am considering it but it almost sounds too good to be true. For those who participate, have you had any problems with unauthtorized use of your credit cards? Any other problems or concerns?

I have used them since they started...I have a few hundred in there right now but I also have a NY State savings plan too and they just sent out letters saying that UPromise is the new manager of that fund now too so I am hoping that I can combine them both into one....

We joined three years ago. It is really what it seems. We love it and have had no problems with security. Our DD is 8 so the amount should be pretty hefty by the time she needs it.

I also have an Upromise account, been active about 2 years. At first I just registered my grocery cards and AT&T, I did register my CC when I started online shopping. I have not had any problems and every little bit helps. I also had my mom and sisters register their grocery cards too.

Yep, registered and use it. I will take any money anyone wants to give me to help with college.

Yes, we've been members of UPromise since it began. We've earned over $400 since then, and it used to be directly deposited into our 529 account. Since then, UPromise had ended it's relationship with the manager of our 529 account, so the money just accumlates there now. Eventually, we'll have to open up a new accout to have the money deposited, but it's not too signaficant yet. We also have a credit card that gives us 2% cash back into our 529 account, which is great, since I charge EVERYTHING on that card, and just pay it off at the end of the month. It's like free money for the kids for college. We used to have an airline mileage card, but we just kept racking up miles (up to 300k) and never using them. We finally used them, but it only saved us a few thousand in money, and we could have gotten more money from the cash back program for the kids.

Thanks gang. I took the plunge. Wish I had done it a couple of months ago - before I started Christmas shopping - oh well, we still have 7 years of spending before our oldest heads off to college.

Yes, I joined in Aug or Sept and have about $30 so far. My dd is only 6 yrs old so I should have a good amt saved by the time she goes to college. And I just learned last week that Publix joined UPromise! I'm so excited! I can't stand Winn Dixie and never go to Albertsons. I do a lot of online shopping also. And I ate out at a restaurant that I didn't even realize participated in UPromise until I checked my UPromise acct. I got $2-$3 from eating at that restaurant. I also participated in FL's prepaid college savings.

Well I signed up in August and really forgot about it. I just checked my account and I have a whole $1.87 in there! I also just did a ton of online shopping too (boo hoo). Oh well, I did just switch to AT&T so I signed up for that, but I guess I will have to pay more attention when I make a purchase. Thanks for the reminder.

Whoo Hoo - I just noticed that I am down to double digits on my countdown clock!!!

I joined about a Month ago, and have not checked my account as yet, because I keep forgetting to scan my Member thing.

Which credit card is that? We have the Citibank Upromise, but we only get 1%, and the only other I've heard of is the Babymint card which is also 1%.

We've been with them since October of 2001 and have never had a problem with security. We've been really happy with the program. We have over a grand already, and with a 3 YO and a new baby we should see it add up.

I just joined last month when Publix started to participate for my 8 yr old DD. Every little bit will help over the next 10 years till she is ready for college. How long does it take for the percentage to be added to your account?
