Anyone packed water on the plane?

It's very simple for us. We needed the extra suitcase anyway. Water from home is about $.10 a bottle. Water at the parks $2/bottle. If you were checking the extra bag anyway, why not? Why spend time (and money, if not enting a car) shopping if you don't need to?

Exactly.

It seems however, that depending on what I pack, water may be a weight issue for me for my baggage allowance.

On the other hand, I am allowed 22 lbs as carry on - I figure that's a half a case of water right there !!!

The travel agent and charter thingy is really really bugging me.

I am bringing one suitcase with 5 6-packs of water since I will not have a car and the wegoshop surcharge is so high. With four of us water is $10.00 per set of bottles. That's a lot of other stuff the kids could have. I'm sure the empty suitcase will come in handy for the trip back and with 4 paying passengers and 150 lbs of luggage allowance each I'm sure my water will be barely a dent. We will only have a total of four suitcases including the water as DH and I share a suitcase and the kids each have their own.

You are so lucky - 600 lbs of luggage!!! Wow - Jealous me.

Imagine - I have only 132 lbs total for 4 people.

You should still be able to pack lots of stuff to get to 132 pounds.

I'm not so sure... I am rather worried. Diapers are going in the bag, along with everything else... and leave room for purchases.... dunno.

I am going to do some packing on the weekend - we had some snow flurries yesterday and it's bitter cold out again today so I can get most of the packing out of the way - no need for warmer weather clothing for us until .... .um..... next June?

I think I'll weigh my bags to get a rough estimate. Like I mentioned earlier in this board but I went for a long weekend to New York City a month ago with my girlfriend... my bag weighed 56 lbs coming home.

I travel quite a bit and I don't even get to 40 pounds. That is for a weeks worth of clothes and stuff.

I would think about shipping a box ahead of time with diapers, water, any other items you think you may need.

Sadly it's a problem for me to ship ahead and would definitely not be worth the $$. It's really expensive to ship from Canada to the U.S. As well, there are problems with duty charges etc.

Actually the last time we were there it was $3.50 per bottle. We bring water because I am one of those people who ALWAYS has water on hand. I am a thirsty girl.

We did bring a whole suitcase with Breakfast and snacks. we brought chips, poptarts, nutrigrain bars, juice boxes, cheezits, and the like. This year we will add microwave pop corn. Not only is this a money saver it is so much more convenient. We have 2 kids who like those things and so it is more convenient to offer what they would get at home then to look for something at twice the cost that they like.

We rely completely on disney transportaiton because it is so convenient. We have the money but this just works out sooooo much nicer.

I ordered 3 cases of water from staples.com. I signed up for a member benefits card and I get free shipping. Not sure if Canadian residents are eligible but you could check. I looked up the resort's address on allearsnet and am having the water delivered there.

We're going for 2 weeks and have 6 people so we'll need a lot of water! Since it's only $6 for 24 bottles, what we don't use we'll leave there. At WDW, the 24 bottles would have cost 10 TIMES that.

We packed a 12 pack of water in our suitcase when we went in September. With the price of water at Disney and using Magical Express we feel this is a great way to bring water with us.

With a 4 yr old and a 17 mth old, WHENEVER we go out I bring along Cheerios, crackers, pretzels whatnot. They're happy and don't drive me nuts all the time so I'm happy. We will of course be getting our snack with the dining plan as well as I am most certain buying extra stuff here and there.

What I can't handle is paying all of that money (with the exchange, could almost cost $4 or $5 Canadian for me) for a bottle of water. I, too, almost always have a bottle of water with me.... If I had to buy bottles of water at the parks - say even only 6 bottles a day (from a.m. thru p.m. that's not obscene for 4 people) well, that'd be almost $30 Cdn a day for me for water? Ugh. Nevermind the additional snacks.....? I'd rather put the money elsewhere. We've already had to pay out around $4700 for this trip... and I'm not done and not there yet and haven't shopped yet either

Staples.com ..... VERY interesting. I'll have to check that out! I'd already tried Walmart.com, costco.com etc but found nothing. Staples is one I hadn't thought of.

Has anyone tried packing drinks other than water? I'm seriously considering packing a few of the Starbucks bottled frappuccinos! I need my caffeine fix in the mornings, and it would be so convenient to have them there in the room.
