This may be a silly question but I haven't been on a plane in over a decade and with all the security restrictions and screenings I don't know if I would be able to pack a toaster in one of our checked bags or carry on bags (this would be a new inexpensive toaster still in the box). I know we could just use one in the hotel food court, but for quick morning breakfasts it would be more convenient if we could just bring our own. Thank you.

Actually, it is not so much carrying it on the plane or putting it in your checked baggage, it is having it in your room.

They don't provide toasters in rooms that don't have the proper GFI outlet, nor fire supression system in case it catches on fire while you are out of the room. Disney cannot verify that your toaster is in proper working order unless they have provided it (as in the DVC properties), so if an accident did occur, you would be personally liable for any and all damage.

Therefore, I would not bring it at all.

I agree - do not bring a toaster. You are not allowed to use this in your hotel room (if you are staying at any Disney hotel).

However, you can certainly carry this on the plane.

There was just a fire at a motel in Kissimmee. The cause probably wasn't a toaster even though the motel is primarily long-term residential - but why take that chance?

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:OMG this is one of the funniest thread topics I've seen in ages!! I actually thought you were serious at first. You ought to post this over on the Tips forum. They have a thread called "What is your not so normal item to pack.." They'd get a real charge out of this.

I did not know that. I saw a thread about a fridge/microwave/toaster swap for Pop Century in the Budget forum so I thought people were allowed to use toasters in the room. We will probably be looking into a suite or villa type accomodation now anyway. Thank you for those who answered my question and did not think I was trying to be humorous

I have to admit, I thought some of the responses were drily funny (mine especially ;)) - but we know your question was serious.

Those people shouldn't be bringing toasters, etc. Refrigerators are okay - but you can't stop everyone from doing everything they shouldn't
