Anyone own Wyndham timeshare?

After looking into Bonnet Creek rentals on ebay I've found that I can buy Wyndham ownership points super cheap. We actually toyed with the idea of buying into Wyndham last summer when we went to a presentation in Myrtle Beach but couldn't justify the monthly payments. I'd love input from anyone who owns Wyndham, and especially anyone who's bought through e-bay.

Do make a point of joining TUG if you are serious about timeshares.

But, if you are *primarily* interested in Bonnet Creek, it is probably more cost-effective to rent from owners who bought from the developer for big bucks, and are willing to pass their 60-day discounts on to you. You get the advantage of the discount without the capital outlay.

If you are interested in all of the *other* Wyndham resorts, though, then it can be a great value.

We own 2 timeshare in the Wyndham system. Both were bought on ebay. We pay around $1100/yr in maintenance and we have been able to get at least 2 weeks vacation each year since we bought. This year we have 3 weeks.

Good advice. With the shape the economy is in right now you can actually rent 7 days for less money than the owner would pay in maintenance fees for the 7-day equivalent in points. So even if you got a timeshare for free you could end up paying more money for your vacation than someone who rents.
