Anyone out there staying on-site and going to the Capital One Bowl?

DH is thinking about trying to go to the Capital One Bowl while we're in Orlando. Biggest problem is transportation to the game, though. Mears or Tiffany (or any of the other transport companies) can take care of it, but for $80 round trip. This is more do-able, though, if there are others staying on-site who are interested in travel to the game. Anyone out there? (Auburn or Penn State -- We're an Auburn family, but it would be fun to get to know people from Penn State, too. At least until after the game!)

Hi Julie, War Eagle -

We checked Sunday night, and the flights that week from Michigan are through the roof, plus we already have a trip planned for MLK weekend, so we aren't going to be able to sneak down there. I'm excited for you though, I'm sure that wdw will be orange and blue again, and new years eve should be a lot of fun too. Heck if y'all are already there, you should go for sure - I think the tickets are like $65 through AU.

As for transportation, I'd think about renting a car, but then that gets you into paying for parking. If they are picking you up after the game, $80 for Tiffany sounds pretty good! Especially if you split it with another couple. That's pretty cool, beause you don't have to worry about parking - bring someone from Auburn with you and you'll have a built in split for it -

The AU-sports mailing list is here: http://www.auburn.edu/its/ducapps/ausports/ maybe you can find someone from there - there should be umpteen 1,000's of Auburn people in the area.

Have a great time and War Eagle again,
DR

War Eagle!

My DH is upset that we're coming home on the 24th, so we won't be there for the game! He graduated from Auburn and is a huge fan. Our nephew (an Auburn student) is coming with some of his friends, but don't know where they're staying (somewhere offsite).

How lucky that you'll be there...have fun!

We're planning to be in WDW from the 12/29 to 1/3 and WE ARE PENN STATE. However, we don't have tickets yet -- trying to get some. We are driving down so we will have a car. If our plans go forward, I'll be sure to let you know.

I'd say Tiffany is definately the way to go.

If you're looking for tickets, empiretickets.com claims to have some for sale, though I don't know how much they are going for.

I only pull against Auburn once a year (when they play my Dawgs), but this is going to be a tough one for them. Penn State is only a couple of plays away from contending for a BCS bowl this year. Regardless, I'll be watching from the ESPN club @ the BWI, and then settling in for a Sugar Bowl romp by UGA over FSU!
