I'm searching for a new umbrella-type stroller and I'm considering the KidCo Lifestyle LS2000 because it has extending handles for taller parents. I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6'6 and it would be nice not to have to bend over quite so far when pushing our son in the stroller. I'm curious whether anyone has purchased this particular stroller and what your feelings are on it. Our son is 2 1/2 and we vacation to Disney once a year. We live in the DC area and spend many days at museums and other area sights which involves a lot of walking. The Metro is a huge convenience instead of driving to the city so I'd love to hear your opinions on the stroller's ease in traffic, on public transportation as well as comfort for both child and parent.

Thanks so much!

We don't have this one but I am 5'11" and DH is 6'2" and the Maclaren Volo has longer handles and is much easier for us to push than a typical umbrella stroller.

we have a Kidco umbrella stroller. We bought it almost 2 years ago so I can't remember the model number. We bought it for a cruise we went on and ended up using it more than the regular stroller we had.

I like that it is umbrella style and that it still has all the features that most deluxe strollers have.....adjustable seat that will go from sitting to laying, the sunshade, adjustable handles as my husband is taller than I, basket underneath, etc.

There's on a few negative things I'll mention. Don't think it's going to be as light as a regular umbrella. It is heavier and for a reason, it has more features and it's better built. The other negative is if you are flying make sure to put an extra strap around it because the wheels section flops away from the handle section. I just bought a thick strapped lanyard at Walmart with the clip that you use your thumb to open. I just wrap it around the stroller and it takes care of the flopping.

We have one and have used it at WDW twice now and it has served us well. We also use it when running errands & at the mall because it's nice to have a stroller that doesn't take up the whole trunk like our Jeep Liberty stroller does. I agree with the pp's review of it. A few other things I wish it would do is stand when folded and also it would be nice if the seat were a little deeper for when ds is sleeping but I guess you can't have everything, lol. :-) The LS2000 is 14lbs and the LSS2010 model is more lightweight @ 12lbs, very similar but has "taller, stationary handles" according to the Kidco site. I'm not sure how it compares height wise to the LS2000. Here's a link to their website if you haven't already found it: http://www.kidcoinc.com/stroller.cfm

Edit to add: DH is 6'2" and I am 5'7". We have the handles at the highest level and still occasionally kick the back wheels but it honestly doesn't happen enough to bother either of us. We don't have to bend over to push this stroller like we would with a regular umbrella which is very nice and much more important, IMO.

Here's a pic of my ds in his LS2000 taken when he was 21 mos old:
