Anyone order the DDE since they don't send emails..

Just wondering, I am going to get my AP voucher next week and will order DDE and wondering if they are still mailing a letter to your house in advance. I was hoping to avoid the walk to Epcot to get it since we can use it right away when we get into the hotel and I don't want to drag my kids all around to get it. We are going to Epcot on the second day and would love to wait till then.

I ordered last week. Received a letter in the mail . The letter says it is proof of membership and is good until the end of June. Hope this helps.
I'm going in July. July 4-10. I ordered last week to make sure I get it before my trip. It has been taking at least 8 weeks to get the card.

I ordered it tues and she asked my arrival date, I told her sun. and she said the letter would be at epcot. I too had a plan to get right into the mk, so I lucked out because mon. morning is morning emh at epcot, I will take a quick walk over from the poly with dh and pick up the letter because I need it for lunch at the mk. They will tell you if you have enough time based on your order time and arrival date.

The DDE expires at the end of the month in which you order it plus one year. So if you order it today, it will expire April 30, 2006. Because of delays in shipping out the cards, they are adding a month or two to the expiration date so in fact your card would probably expire June 30, 2006. But my point is that the clock starts when you ORDER it, not when you first use it. So the longer you wait to order it, the later the expiration date.

If you don't mind using the confirmation letter instead of having the actual plastic card, order it about 2 weeks before your trip which would allow plenty of time for your hardcopy letter to arrive in the mail. The hardcopy letter has an expiration date, too, generally at the end of the month after the month in which you order the DDE. So if you order the DDE today, your letter will probably expire June 30, 2005.

If you absolutely must have the plastic card for some reason (and I can't imagine what that reason would be) then order at least 8 weeks in advance. The worst case is if you try to time it so you get the plastic cards but fall just short. What happens in that case is your hardcopy letter will have expired and won't be useable and you don't have the plastic card yet so you'll have to call the DDE office again, get them to generate a new letter with a new expiration date and then go to Epcot to pick it up. You probably want to avoid that scenario!

If you think you might visit WDW again about 12-13 months after your July trip, then the later your order the DDE, the more likely it is that your membership will still be valid on your second trip.

I have and I got my letter about a week after ordering it. My letter says my crd expires may 2006. I ordered april 13th ish.
