Anyone on the February 27th 4 night Wonder?

C'mon fellow Cruisers, this board is quiet!!! We need to talk strategy, planning, packing, reservations and excursions....

This is my first time, and I am excited!!!!
I have no clue what excursions to take, and following the posted Ultimate packing lists, I think I need to purchase more luggage!!!

Do I need to say "I can't wait"
My brain already left!!! :boat:

I'm getting more excited as the time gets closer!!! Is anyone bringing bubbles for the sail-away party? I've read some do and some don't. From this thread I wonder how full the ship will be? Any ideas? We will do the swimming with dolphins in Nassau, and I'm looking into the banana boat ride on CC. Has any one ever done the bb ride? I want to see the shows and movies on the ship. My oldest daughter is 20, and hopes there are others her age on the cruise. My 12yo daughter has special needs and this is a special trip for her as she couldn't go with us on our first cruise in Sept. She will celebrate her birthday (early) on the cruise. Hope to see you on the cruise!

Any of you staying at the Hyatt the night prior? We are taking the Disney transfer bus to Port and I'm not quite sure of the process that morning.
We are sooooooo Excited, this will be our first ever Cruise!!! :Pinkbounc
I have my packing list all complete of everything I need. I now need to just throw it in the suitcase and check it off the list. I know I'll be one of those that packs WAY TOO MUCH. Oh well live and learn, like I said this is my first ever Cruise! Has anyone thought about having a DIS Meet (or whatever its called)? I know other cruisers have talked about meeting each other and making some really great Friendships!
Can't wait to Cruise!!! :flower1: :flower: :flower1: :flower: :flower1:

We would love to have a dis meet on the cruise. Let's plan a time and a place to meet-any ideas?

hey!

my counter must be wrong! you guys are leaving a day ahead of me!!!
wait up!!!

cant wait to go!!!
yippeee :boat:

GavinsMom: Your way ahead of the game if your packing list is complete! I have the list but have hardly started and I've done this before LOL. I better get down to business! We're staying at Radisson the night before. Going to dinner at Dixie Crossroads then maybe a quick stop at Ron-Jon's for whatever last minute beach item we might want or need. Hubby and I were just talking this morning about how we ALWAYS overpack and insists that we cut if down this time. What's that rule?

Pack all your clothes then take half of them out and take twice as much money! Your not a kiddin!

tink11: A mini DIS meet? COOL! We took bubbles last trip but our ondeck sailabration got rained out so we never used them. There are people that take them though. DD loved the banana boat rides. She's thinking about doing one. They can be a little rough but fun! We're doing dolphins this time too, only at Discovery Cove before the cruise. Our DD will be 17 on the cruise. She's going to try the teen club but thinks she might feel weird being the older teen this time. Hope your little DD has a fun time for her B-Day!

deedz: This is our 3rd cruise and I think I'm just as excited as you ::yes:: :jester: :rockband: :Pinkbounc

I just have to figure out what I'm packing for my 2 YO now. I have no clue what to bring for him. I know at least 2 swimsuits, because he'll probably want to swim a lot.

:flower1: For those of us in the cold and snowy states, tomorrow's high in Nassau is supposed to be 81 degrees. :smooth: Does that help with the excitement?
I think a cruise meet would be great.
We are also staying at the Radisson the night before.

That sounds glorious cause it's freaking cold here! Hey you guys, just for giggles I went to the DCL site and tried to make ressies for our cruise and the site told me there was nothing available. I guess that means we're sailing a full ship. Maybe I'll luck out and get an upgrade! We booked a guarantee so who knows what's going to happen! Oh well, who cares. I'm cruising with Mickey! I'll be the one beating down the doors of the terminal for them to open!

Ahh, looking forward to soaking up some sunshine! Here in Michigan it's been gloomy and rainy. suppose to get really cold tonight. Any suggestions for a mini DIS meet? We bought the DIS boards luggage tags-they are lime green and really make your luggage "stand out". We are flying in the night before but really don't know if we should stay by the airport, or drive down to the port. Our flight won't get in til about 7:00pm, so I don't know if I want to drive on unfamiliar roads. Any suggestions? So ready to go!

Looking forward to those SUNNY skies! :sunny:
We would definately come to a DIS meet. But I have no suggestions where or when since this is our first time cruising. I'm kind of clueless.........LOL!

I have a great idea!

Lets meet in the SPA on the ship! We can congratulate ourselves for all our hard work of DCL planning with a mud bath and massage! After all the sleep we're losing worrying about packing, planning, hotels, and shuttles we'll probably need the cucumber eye treatments!!! LOL
(kidding)

:cool1:

Arrrghhhh pirate: a pirates life for me! ...

I have been reading and looks like we're in for some Pirate Fun... so dont forget to pack your deck swabbing clothes and bandana's!!!

Around when should we start watching for our Documents???

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I was getting excited because I see February people are starting to receive their docs. If I remember right, it seems like we got ours last time about 4 weeks before the cruise but I know many people start to panic and still have not received them up to like 2 weeks before. Lets cross our fingers that we won't be kept in suspense too long!

I'm glad your excited about Pirate's Night. I can't wait. We just picked out our costumes last night. I wish I knew how to sew, I'd just make my own. Oh well, I found some really cute ones. DS was one of the Pirates of the Caribbean Ghost Pirates for Halloween but he wanted to be a regular pirate this time. Sounds like lots of fun! pirate:

My fingers are crossed! I need something else to read!

I am doing this whole planning, packing by myself as it is a surprize for Hubby and DD! She thinks we're going skiing and he knows, but doesnt have a clue what to expect!
DD had a Pirate birthday last summer (after watching Pirates of the Carribean) but dressed up as a Mermaid. I think she crossed Pirates with Peter Pan, and made up her own adventure! pirate:

I really think I am overpacked! I got to get off these boards, with every new thread I pack something else!!!

I CANT WAIT!!!!

Is the Pirate's Night Party late at night? Like 10:00pm to 12:00am???
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Amy

I didn't know there was going to be a pirates night party(where have i been?) What is it all about? What do we bring to wear? My daughter is Captain Hooks biggest fan, do you think he will be there? OMG I really need to start packing! It's FREEZING here-can't wait to get to warm weather and sunshine! I hope we don't blind everyone with our pale skin!!!! Bringing the sun screen for sure.

There is not a whole lot of info because it's very new. Instead of the Tropical Deck party sailing out of Nassau. It's now a Pirate Deck Party so I think it starts just before sailaway. Like 10:00 maybe. Apparently Captain Hook and his band of scurvy pirates arrive to take over the ship. I think there is also a buffet. A lot of people are dressing up and joining in on the fun. This started on the Magic and now it's just started being offered on the Wonder. I also read in another thread that there is going to be a pirate themed dinner with the menu's on treasure maps. You can see the menu on Barb's site. Like I said it's a brand new thing so just getting little trickles of info on it recently. We may hear a little more before we sail. I'm getting pirate garb for all of us just for fun. DH is a scurvy pirate. DS too. DD is a tavern wench and I will be dressed as the pirate woman with nickers, boots and the lace up corset shirt. It'll be fun!

Does anyone have any thoughts on seating times for parents with little ones? My 2 DDs are 6 and 4.5 and I am thinking that we will go to the early show and maybe the late meal. I don't think they will make it through the show if we do the late option. I am not sure they would sit through any meal since it seems that they take about 1.5 hours.

I also have a question on packing - I am undecided on what to do when we get to Nassau - is staying on the ship a bad option?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

See you all soon!
