Hi! If you’re on this first SWDAS sailing of 2020, I was wondering if you’d come back after your cruise and answer a few questions for me😬 We’re on the 1/18/20 sailing and I’d love to pick your brain about a few things if possible!

Some questions would be:
Is there a souvenir SWDAS bedrunner in the staterooms again this year?
Any chance you’d share pics of your navigator?
Any notable changes from what you’ve experienced, heard or researched about SWDAS sailings from previous years?
Thanks in advance!

DH and I will be on this cruise and will be happy to report back! Only thing is we havent done research or have experience with past SWDAS so wont be any help in that particular respect. Let me know if you have other specific questions.

Awesome, thanks so much!! I’m also hoping to catch our favorite bartender, Bonnie. He was in Meridian on the Dream last March and then we saw him in O’Gills on the Fantasy in August, so hoping he might still be there🤞🏻

My kids are also wondering about the Star Wars popcorn buckets and if they’ll be available from the beginning of the cruise for refills the whole week, or if they don’t put the Star Wars ones out until Star Wars day?
If you happen to notice that would be great!
Happy sailing🎉

On our 2 previous SW cruises they have BB8 cups in the MDRs for sale. We bought my dd one. It's a nice cup and the lid actually screws on, unlike the turtle one we bought in AP. We rarely eat popcorn so I didn't check about getting SW bucket until SW night. I walked past the concession stand and they didn't have any sitting out with the others. I don't know if that's because they were sold out already or if they didn't have any for the cruise. We never saw anyone with special SW buckets though. If you want one, I would go by the first night to see if they have them. I would think they would have them, I'm sure they would sell a lot.

We’ve never gotten the specialty cups in the MDRs but might this time. Did you bring it back every night to the MDR or get a new one every night? I’ve seen vlogs and reviews of SWDAS cruises with Darth Vader popcorn buckets as well as some others, so I was assuming they would have them but couldn’t tell what night they were put out...although if you haven’t seen them maybe it’s something they don’t do anymore.

She only used it on SW night, that's when we bought it. I didn't think about taking it back. My dh gets her the cups, I never would. The turtle one is horrible, too big and the lid falls off. The BB8 is great size. It comes with a choice of 2 different drinks, if I remember correctly. I thought I had seen pics of buckets like that also. I was going to ask about them but when I was going to do it, it was really busy at the concession stand, I never went back. I really would think they would have them. Can't imagine DCL not doing something that makes extra $$$

We'll be joining you on the 18th. I'm watching this thread.

More Questions:
  • What percentage of folks are donning some sort of SW costume for the SWDAS? We dressed up for Pirate Night last time we were on a Disney Cruise but wasn't sure SW was as big a deal.
  • If you are wearing something? What? Seems to me you can look the part of "pirate" with stuff lying about the house. Stars Wars is a far more involved, no?

We've been on 2 SW cruises and will also be on the same cruise as you. You will see people who go all out with costumes, some who wear t-shirts, and some who do nothing. I'm not a SW fan so for previous cruises I didn't do anything. My dh and dd wore t-shirts. We were in a full elevator and I was the only one who wasn't wearing something SW. I bought a t-shirt for the upcoming cruise. People will wear their SW stuff all day since it's a sea day, unlike pirate night when people dress up after excursions. You will see a lot of kids and adults wearing the brown jedi robes.

We will be on the 1/18 cruise as well. DH and I are wearing SW costume t-shirts (lots on Amazon and Etsy); kid will be more elaborate thanks to a Halloween consume deal.

We do this essentially for pirate night too... not too into it but a little something themed.

Just adding on - can anyone who has returned tell us what the show schedule is on this cruise? Just Aladdin, Frozen and Believe.

Love to hear any other tips from people who did this most recent version!!!

I was on the Fantasy from Dec 7-Dec14 on a Western Carib. and it was Fantasy Come True, Frozen, magic act, Frozen II in the WDT, Comedy act, Aladdin, Believe in that order. I think I saw someone on the board with a slightly more recent Eastern itinerary that had Aladdin and Frozen switched. Definitely get to the theater early for a good seat. Avoid first row balcony because of the rail. My mom and I got there 30 minutes early and got decent seats.

thanks, I'm thinking it might end up different for SWDAS because that puts a major show on the star wars day and I don't believe they do that.

Last year the major shows were on day 2, day 3 and day 7 which are the first two at sea days and castaway cay day on SWDAS cruises, whereas more recently without SWDAS they have been on day 3, 6 and 7, as you said. Star wars is on day 6 with the deck party/fireworks show, so I think that's why they move a major show to day 3 but looking for confirmation for this year!
