Anyone on Sci Fi Diner?

My DH is a huge Sci-fi fan. I have never been to the Sci-Fi Diner but would like to take him. I've seen pictures and reviews of it in the Unofficial Disney Guide. The car seats look fun! The atmosphere looks fun, but the menu doesn't sound too great. Any suggestion?

We enjoy it, lots of others don't . Really, really fun and unusual atmosphere and just average food. It's our favorite place for lunch at the studios, though. We always have a good time there.

We ate there for dinner once, but wouldn't do it again. The atmosphere was fun, but the food was not very good. If you think your DH would really enjoy it, perhaps it's worth a try. I've read that lunch is better than dinner there, so maybe try it for lunch?

I also enjoy this place alot. My family and I went there for dinner in Dec. We were a little disappointed with the menu. The lunch menu you has more sandwiches and burgers that are very good. My father had the ribs for dinner and found them to be pretty good. I say going for lunch to be a better bet then dinner. Have Fun

My dd and I ate there this past Dec. Wouldn't do it again. But, the scene is reall cool. I would suggest just doing desserts there. Maybe mid-day. We just weren't that happy with the food.

If you do go, do it for lunch or desert and not dinner. It is a great atmosphere and any Sci-Fi fan of the 50's should love it.

My Dh and I have done lunch here twice and loved it. I'd recommend Lunch or dessert.

Here's a stupid question

Can those car booths fit a family of 5? Every picture I have seen is of 4 people- can 3 kids squeeze in together?

I used like it the first few years it was open. Lately though, the food isn't as good and the price is too high.

It you've never been there then you should go at once for lunch just for the experience.

in reply as how many ppl the car can hold it would be six or so total in car. it's possible 3 kids could squeeze in 1 row but that would depend on size of kids and how friendly they are.

My teens love the atmosphere of this restaurant! We usually have lunch here when we visit, and we find the food to be good burger and sandwhich type offerings.

Not for a gourmet palate, but great family fun!!

We're in the minority. We love it. It's on our must do list for each and every trip! Sure it's not a gourmet meal, but that's ok with us. We've never had a bad meal there. We're going to be in WDW in three weeks. You can bet we'll be eating here!

We ate there last year. We're a family of 5 and we fit nicely into a single "car". I can't comment on the food because I really didn't get a chance to eat - the atmosphere, while fun for adults, was terrifying for my kids (6, 5, and 3). I spent most of the meal waiting outside with one or more of the kids.

The Sci-Fi is definitely a 'lunch' place - the burgers and milkshakes are not bad. But you are paying for the decor/experience. We love it and try to go at least once a trip.
