:earseek: Everyone keeps talking about how cheap the new tickets are but really if you tour the way I do they are very expensive. We used to stay at the resort with length of stay tickets- this gave us an extra park day as you got to use the park until midnight of the checkout day now you use a day plus we could go to DQ as much as we wanted which was everyday with a teenager and a water park every day - they really really cut back on our trip. We also now need to buy premium and hoppers which both came with length of stay so I don't think these are a good deal at all anyone else agree??

I love the new ticket pricing for our style of touring. A 9 day LOS pass would have run in the neighborhood of $425. The way they price now, a 10 day park hopper, with pluses and that expires in 14 days would cost $307. That has 5 pluses which are enough for us. But then again we don't go to DQ on every trip and we wouldn't do a water park every day either. We would most likely do BB or TL just a few times. In fact, I'm trying to decide whether or not an AP is a good idea for our trip in '06. I get a discount on that since we own DVC but I always try to sneak in extra trips with it, so it ends up costing me money in the long run!!! So, maybe a 10 day MYW pass would be a good idea for us!!

I agree with MinniMomma here. I said the same thing last night. I hate having to keep track of how many "pluses" we've used and what we have left. The old length-of-stays were so much easier (and the way we toured, a better value). Of course, they are making money off of us. We've decided to save up a couple $100 more if we can and just get PAPs. That way we won't have to worry about how many pluses, which tickets we need to buy in advance, etc. Besides, we might come back again in the year, since we'd only have to pay for air fare and hotel.

I personally have to agree that the new tickets seem cheaper, I now have to sell my old php so I can benifit from the lower rate.

I personally really like the new system they have for the tickets. We sell them at The Disney Store and I've found more people praising the new ticket system...and in the past I had more people complaining about the old way. So obviously a lot of people like it too. But then again, most people aren't going to DQ and a water park every single day. I know we don't...we like to be at the parks, so a few visits that the put on the ticket (when you get the appropriate one that gives plus options) is enough for us.

Sorry you're losing out some...hopefully you'll still be able to enjoy your trip without going to these things every single day (unless you just wind up buying individual tickets there). :)

I thought the new MYW pluses had however many days you bought? Am I mistaken? How many pluses on a 6 day ?

No, the pluses are limited...just as the park hopper plus from the past had limited visits. The only ones that offered unlimited plus visits were the Ultimate Park Hoppers (aka, Length of Stay). I believe for a 6 day ticket with plus options, you get 5 plus visits.

I agree about the loss of length of stay. Although this trip we are going to Universal one day, so we wouldn't have had them anyway.
But, now we only have 2 plusses. so we will be limited as to what water park and what else to do. When we had length of stay we would do a water park in the a.m., park in afternoon, another park at night for dinner, and then off to Pleasure Island.

Now I am not sure if we should buy the 5 day PI pass or go just hang out at the hotel bar. :(

OP - I agree with you. Fortunately, for the trip we just got back from, we were ticket price shopping in December, so we had enough advanced warning about the new vs. old tixs that we could compare. We wanted 4 days with hopping which was less $$ pre-MYW than MWY -- and we also got the waterpark/PI day, which we'll save for another trip (non-expiring).

Also liked that if someone did get sick or was too tired to hit a park one day, the old tixs were non-expiring (which I would have been too expensive for us to choose if we'd gotten MYW with the non-exp. option).:wizard:

I just hate that we are there for 14 days and the 10 day are the only ones we can get or AP I used to like length of stay......and I am pretty sure they had 2 week passes but i am not positive. I can't decide weather to only go to parks 10 days or buy the ap and not have to worry but.........its so much more!!!!

You could simply go to Guest Services and ask them to do a no-expiration for however many days you have left and they will do it for you. Many of our guests complained about the no expiration thing in the past because they knew they would definitely use some of the days, so they thought Disney was charging them for something they wouldn't need...at least not for all of the days. Don't ask, they seriously thought Disney was doing this...and this was a good amount of our guests. We ALWAYS suggest to our guests now to not get no expiration ahead of time because you know for a fact that you'll be hitting the parks at least one day while you're on your trip so there's no point in paying for a no expiration on a day you'll be using up. So we always tell our guests to wait until the end of the trip and then go to Guest Services to have them to a no expiration on the days they have left. You won't pay as much as you would if you did no expiration all up front.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that if you added the 'no-expire' option to your tix, even if you did it at the end of your stay and only needed the 'no-expire' for a day or two, you had to pay the $$ amount for the origional length of the MYW ticket.

So, while it is a good idea not to buy 'no-expire' on tickets before you get to WDW (you might end up using all your days), you don't actually save any $$ if you have to add it at the end of your trip. i.e., you still have to pay $100 to make your 10 day MYW ticket a 'no-expire', even if you only have two days left on it at the end of your trip.

MomofKatie is correct, below is what is on the mousesavers.com site regarding adding non-expire after using days on your tickets:

The No Expiration Option can be added after the initial ticket purchase, but you'll have to pay the full upgrade based on the original length of the ticket. For instance, if you buy a 7-day ticket and decide on the 5th day of your vacation that you won't be using the rest of the ticket on this trip, you can add No Expiration for $55 plus tax and use the remaining 2 days on a future trip. Such upgrades are allowed within the first 14 days (day of first use plus 13 days).

We did buy one premium Ap for me of course LOL because we save 656 on room if we do but the others have 10 day premium and have to count their pluses- my kid slove DQ and it is over 100. to get in there for them so not a bargain at the door either although you can get cheaper price later in the evening we just miss doing a waterpark in day and dad takin teens to DQ while mom and & take little one to MK- we usually do parks and Dq and/or waterpark a day we like to hop! Anyway I miss lOS! I also miss 7 for 4 that was a real deal :rotfl:

With 3 children who love DQ and the water parks as much as the major parks, I really miss the length of stay passes. We've had to invest in PAPs this year.

My managers at my store have contacted Guest Services about the no-expiration issue and we were told that they will do it and the amount is pro-rated so they were not able to give us exact quotes because it really depended on what they had left on their ticket. We had several confirmations of this through them and through guests that came back to our store informing us of this saying they were charged a prorated amount...not the full amount. Even one of our CMs said the same thing when she added it on after having a couple of days left.

So clearly two very different things are going on down at the parks.

Does Disney offer Disney Quest APs? You might save money that way- I know it's a bummer not to have the flexibility of unlimited admissions that UPHs used to offer. But, overall, we still like the MYW tix- we didn't use all the plusses that some of you do- now we don't have to pay for them.

I think Disney got it backwards with the way they did pricing on the new MYW tickets. People are complaining that now they have to pay to park hop. I think Disney should have figured that into the base price of the ticket and then said, "If you don't want to park hop, then you can get a $35 discount off of your ticket." "If you don't want to go to the water parks, DQ, then you can decuct $45 from your ticket." Then people feel like they are saving something if its a plus they don't use. But I like the new tickets.

6-day tickets have only 4 plus visits.

I like the new MYW passes, but I will miss having the ability to visits DQ as often as we'd like.

We used the 30 day Fun In The Sun Passes last April. We went to DQ several times during that trip. Each time we were only there for 2-3 hours.

Since we had unlimited access, I never worried about wasting money by only staying for a few hours.

With the new passes, I want to be sure we aren't wasting an option. I also have to divide those 5 options between BB, TL, and PI. That only leaves us with 2 options for DQ. My son would love to go to DQ each day.

I like the new passes, they just aren't magic MY way passes. MY way would include unlimited plus options. :rotfl2:
