Ok ok ok, I know I don't mean that I DO NOT want to go to WDW, but I find that my trip is coming way too fast. :confused3

My wedding is Sept. 2 and our trip is Sept. 9-16 and I feel like time is flying by!!!

There are a few things I'd like to do before I go and feel that I won't get them done... like losing a little weight, buying some new clothes... and spending a little more time on the DISboards.

I just moved to a new city and don't know anyone and was going through some serious hard times when we started planning this trip. Before it, I was depressed... now I find I feel better having something to plan and look forward to.

Since DF says that we can't go on another trip until Feb 2008... I'm scared that I'm going to fall back into the same sad spell...

Anyone else have a similiar situation???

sounds like you have the pre-trip post Disney blues anticipation syndrome.

Enjoy the trip on your horizon and the year or so you will be getting to know your husband. That time will fly by quickly as well.

No one knows what 2007 will bring. You two may plan a trip sooner than the 2008.

I kind of go back and forth. Our trip is in September as well (10-16). I'm so anxious for it to get here because I can't wait to do everything...however summer is my favorite season and I don't want to be wishing it all away. I did that last year when I was waiting for my trip and I regretted it because I was busy wishing days away that I didn't stop to enjoy the days. I know it's especially hard when you're not only counting down to WDW, but your WEDDING as well!!

I agree with Frantasmic...you never know what 2007 will be. DH has always said "this is our last trip for awhile" and last year I agreed with him...until we heard about free dining. And here we are, going again. 6 years of saying "our last trip for a couple of years or so" and this is our 6th trip back. :) In all honesty, this WILL be our last trip for awhile...and I wish I could say that it'll be like all the other years we've said that. We're adopting from Guatemala so all our money, outside the money for our upcoming vacation, is going towards that. I'm thrilled we're adopting, but kind sad to have to say goodbye to WDW for a few years. I think that's also kind of the reason why I'm trying not to wish the days away.

That's neat. I am interested in the adopting process actually. DF is from El Salvador (next to Guatemala)... where did you find an agency to do this???

Oh! And, thanks for sympathizing ;) :wizard: :goodvibes

MissLissa I'll be in WDW Sept. 9th to 14th.

Last week I started to feel a bit sad that I had not lost any weight, nor have I been able to increase the number of days that I work out. Oh, and to put the icing on the cake, the tennis shoes I bought at an outlet an hour away, do not fit as well as they did in the store. So I've been really disappointed that I may be stuck with them. But I quickly snapped out of that when I realized I AM GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!! There are alot of people who would switch places with me and you! No I don't have all the clothes or shoes I wanted, but who cares. I'm getting myself together, and you will too :thumbsup2 So let's keep counting down!

We adopted three beautiful children form Korea and didn't go on vacation for several years. We are making up for it now. I am so looking forward to our next trip in October, although it might get pushed off, I may be transfering to Louisville for work. So right now I am waiting to know if it will be in October or February/March.

We found our agency through a friend. When we decided to adopt, we decided to only research agencies personally recommended to us. We checked one out, but when I called them, they acted impatient with my questions and acted like I was wasting their time...so we nixed them. Another one never sent us the information promised to us though we kept requesting it. We nixed them. The third one was AWESOME and we're so happy we chose them. We even love the social worker they assigned to us...she's incredible. The only part about this process I'm disliking the most is the doing the dossier...what a headache!

If you get transferred here, it would be awesome to meet up. I love meeting other adoptive parents!! :sunny:

I probably won't know for another week or two if I will be transfering. I am getting a vibe it probably won't. Are there alot of adoptive families in the area? In NJ we have a bunch of people we get together with from our agency, in fact there is a huge get together in Atlantic City next weekend through a family from the agency. Patiently waiting to find out where we will be visiting WDW from. Good luck in your adoption journey!! :thumbsup2

Hello mking624 and sticker231. I'm right across the river in Southern Indiana, although I do work here in Louisville. I rarely see anyone on the boards from our area.

Okay, back the original post. I am someone who always likes to have something to look forward to. I don't know if you can do this since it looks like you leave a few days after your wedding, but for our honeymoon trip back in 2004, it helped to be able to come home and open wedding gifts. Even though I was sad coming home, I had something to do when I got there. Maybe you can plan something special to do not long after you come home. It will give you something to look forward to.

I'm not there yet, although it is nice to know I am already welcome if I do get transfered.

I hope to know within a week or so.

Thanks!

You nailed it! We leave in less than 20 days and I'm feeling jealous of the people planning their Christmas trips!

Isn't it great that there are other "freaks" who can identify with us?

I have hit the "planning wall"! :guilty: When I started planning back in November for our August trip I had it all laid out SOOO carefully! I made those ADRs at 180 days, watched the EMH and park hours, spent hours every day on the DIS (still do that!) and made sure our itinerary was flawless. Yeah, right!

I had to move our Magical Milestones tour because I couldn't get the Imagineer lunch the day I really wanted. Booked the lunch, moved the tour. Now those are at the end of the week and I just hope we have the energy to enjoy them! Switched out dinner for the day of the tour because we would still be full from lunch. Hemmed and hawed about some breakfast ADRs. Decided to book the AAA storytime, moved dinner around for that night. Cancelled a dinner inside MGM, booked at a resort because a friend who is meeting us for dinner won't have park admission. Then they change the stupid park hours!! Move dinner AGAIN because now Spectro is an hour earlier. Our schedule is a mess, my head hurts just thinking about it, and I am NOT having fun anymore!

We leave in 8 days, and as soon as we come home DS starts 5th grade! Our summer will be over! :guilty: I have completely burned myself out reading about people's perfect, fabulous trips. How can our trip ever measure up to those people's? How can I come back and post all the completely mundane details when everybody else's trip was so GREAT? :confused3

I know, I know. Pity party for me. And we ARE going back in December but I haven't been able to get excited about that trip yet. So I can relate to not wanting to go, but still wanting to go. ;)

OOOOOOooooooooooooooooo.... you have it worse that me!!! :goodvibes

I think that if you worry about planning too much you're not going to have a good time at all. You have to relax and just have a VACATION. When you are there too, don't be looking ahead to the next place you have to be...

I might get flamed for this... but even be late, or don't go to your ADRs (unless you put a CC down) if it is going to cost you any fun.

Have fun! Relax, it is a fun trip and you will make it fun... and your family will make it fun... not your itinerary.

I once went on a trip through the mountains where we ate beans out of a can at one meal, it was my mom's carefree attitude that made it memorable. :cloud9:

Oh I hear you on that! I actually no longer read trip reports anymore because of that. I mean I am GLAD people have had a wonderful time...I just got tired of comparing my trip to someone elses. It's no one's doing but my own, but I found I enjoyed my trip a lot more when I wasn't "competing" with any trip report.

For those who post trip reports, please don't get me wrong...I'm not saying you're trying to compete. It's my own idiosyncrasy. :)

Last year I got married on Oct 1st and went to the WORLD Oct3-oct 14th! I never thought I'd have everything done, but it does all fall into place. oh btw- make sure you get those wedding pins. We got on front of some lines because we had them on :)
I'm have the disney blues and I'm going in October, but this will probably be our last trip for a while and I'm already sad because I know this will possibly be my last time for a while. (unless DH lets me go for my 30th b-day in January) I'm trying to convince him!!!

I don't routinely hang out on the Trip Reports forum, just right before we leave. And I avoid the threads about "Post your magical moments" because I don't want to be hoping for something that probably won't happen, and if it does happen I will be surprised!

Obviously there does come a point where you can't worry about who is having a better trip - you have to get on with your own trip and be glad about it! I am thrilled that we are going back to WDW, thrilled that our friends will be there to share it with us, thrilled that there are so many things we can do when we get there. I'm just a little burned out on waiting for the trip to get here, and completely burned out on messing with the schedule.

My boss came in today and said something about July 31. I looked at her and said (with COMPLETE confidence) "July 31 has already passed." She looked at me and said "JULY 31". And again, I told her it is already past July 31! OK, so it's not. July 31 is Monday. But I really WANT it to be August! I told her I would have bet her money that July 31 was already past - she was quite sorry she didn't pursue it! :rotfl:

You're just anxious to go. I'm sure you're mot concerned with your wedding then your WDW trip. But your wedding and your trip will fly by so quickly and afterwards you'll have the blues of wishing you were back at WDW. Believe me, I did after our honeymoon.
